Would just like 2 thank all the people who came down from motherwell 4 my fight last night!! Was a great feeling walkin out away from home and gettin cheered like a home fighter. You all did me proud!! Also sorry never came back with belt but tried my best. Thought i was doing all the work but watched replay wen got home and david was scoring all the cleaner shots and nicking the rounds. Goin 2 have a nice holiday with the mrs and my son then i ll b back in gym 4 new season. There still some crackin domestic fights out there 4 me and i still belive i can win that belt back. Thanks also 2 all the guys who done interviews with me and gave me good publicity in lead up 2 my fight. Finally well done David Barnes hes good fighter,he wasnt very respectful in after fight interview but spoke 2 him in changin rooms and he was nice guy and a better fighter than i thot he was Cheers Barry
Well done Barry you put in a great effort . I was hoping you'd get the better of Barnes but I expected him to just be a bit too slick and imo that was the case(there seems to be a few who had you winning though) and Barnes as you said nicked rounds landing the cleaner shots . You're still very much in the domestic title picture and a win over Daws or Wright(two fighters I'd fancy you to beat) could get you another shot before long . Stay away from Paul McCloskey though, he'd be too good for any domestic British Light-Welter including Lynes and Barnes .
Unlucky mate - you can still win it again. Look at it this way - if an Airdrie boy thinks you have a chance, you must have!
