Herrera just KO'ed highly touted American prospect Aaron Williams (17-0-1) as well as George Blades (recent Erdei opponent) and has moved up to world #18 at boxrec.com.

Flores should really get a memorable nickname if he wants boxing fans to stop snickering everytime they mention his first initials!

Wow, way to really call out the top guys there, B.J. Nice win by Herrera but he's still a journeyman. I'd be a lot more impressed if Flores called out Williams, even if he did just lose.

    :think

Flores did call out the top guns after he beat Wilson. Problem is of course risk/reward for these guys (and the fact that Haye is moving up).

Herrera is a good opponent en route to a title for Flores, imo...a solid top 20 guy.

I don't think Herrera is a top 20 guy at all. Top 50, maybe. Flores outboxing a plodder like that basically shows us nothing. If it's a keep busy fight, fine, but no way should a win over a guy like that get you any closer to a shot.

Imo Flores is wanting this knowing he will do what he did with Darnell Wilson until Herrera runs out of steam in the middle rounds and BJ will TKO him after RD6.

As emanuel_augustus (esb poster) stated it would be more impressive to call out Aaron Williams, lets face it in a rematch Williams would beat Herrera inside 3 rounds.

Herrera KO'd 38 yr old Jorge Castro in 4 rds after the tough Argentinian returned after a vehicle accident and having had 142 career fights. In the rematch 9 mths later a 39yr old Castro destroyed Herrera flooring him 4 times to win by TKO in the 2nd rd.
