The main reason Danny hasn't bulked up is because he wanted to keep his options open to drop back to lightheavy so he didn't want to put on the extra mass.
I think hes realized he needs to bulk up a bit to take on the true cruisers so you'll see come in a bit heavier this time.

You would expect Green to come in about 185-190 pound range on weigh in.
Anything less would prob be too large a disadvantage for him.

exactly - if matthew newtons stepped up and his next opponent was say posh spice, I couldn't back newton just coz he's an ozzie.

plus posh spice would probably kick the living **** out of the spoilt little ****wit.

ive heard the blokes at parammatta have already started danny on a regime which is aimed at getting his weight up whilst not decreasing his speed etc. danny is also ****ing strong for his size , i dont think he will get too bullied in the clinches, he knows how to hold his own imo. i really cant wait for this and the katsidis fight! interesting to see yesterday that bj isnt that much taller than danny, i could hardly see a discrepancy in height when they were facing off?

:deal Agree..... sure its a good step up from his latest opponents but shouldn't be regarded as anything special he's doin.. he's simply fighting at a level he shoul have always been fighting at

People are quick to forget that Green was a massive underdog against Jones....also quick to forget that Jones was probably the biggest name hit hit our shores since Johnson/Burns....no one gave Green a snowflakes' chance....including myself.

Correct on all counts Horse - and I also thought Jones would school Green.

(we did get a visit from Joe Frazier in 1975 - fought Jimmy Ellis at the Aussie rules ground in St Kilda where Fitzroy used to play)

Actually met Jimmy Ellis very briefly while he was over here - I was only a kid at the time and he visited our school just prior to the bout - 'Smokin' Joe probably visited a more upmarket school than ours.....LOL.

Bernard Hopkins fights off the back foot! He seems to have done ok over the years.

Im actually pretty excited about this fight, good opponent for Green and finally a step in the right direction to get some meaningful momentum going.
