BJ Flores says Taylor was paid off to step down from Super Six

They were afraid Ward would lose to Taylor. They paid him off to avoid that possibility.

If Ward beats Taylor, a big if, then he beats a guy who has already lost to Abraham and Froch. It is a high risk / low reward fight for Ward and that is why Taylor was removed.

Really though, a legit victory over Taylor would impress me if Ward could do it.

Taylor isn't washed up. He just loses gas as a fight progresses, but he is a very good fighter with some holes in his game.

 

Have you read the post fight reports of Jermain in the locker room after the fight and his short term memory loss? And other medical 'stuff'?

Nonsense. If they were truly worried about Ward losing to anybody in this tournament, They wouldn't of matched him up with the best fighter in it.

This makes things a little easier to follow. It's certainly high risk/low reward but I'd argue that's the same with a fight with Dirrell. High risk/low reward fights are abound in this tournament.

This is pretty much a sign of being washed up. Not to mention the memory loss after Abraham knocked him into next galaxy.

Putting it mildly, Taylor was only in the tournament to give us a known American fighter to root for. He was also a feeder for whomever got lucky enough to KO him. Abraham got the duke, Ward got the new American rub and now Taylor is obsolete. May he enjoy retirement.

 

No I haven't. But that stuff may be being thrown around in the press as more evidence he should quit. Or not. I am only speculating.

 

Reportedly he suffered short term memory loss, asked several times if he had been knocked out and when told yes, asked, "What round". His wife reportedly was in tears seeing him in this condition. His stay in Germany was extended until he could get medical clearance to fly home. Serious ****.

 

Awsome. Smart men don't leave they get paid to leave. Way to go Taylor. Now retire.

 

Bika will make a good replacement. I had no beef with Taylor staying in either.

 

Remember what the Bild claimed the injury was right after the fight. Some serious **** right there. Funny how that just disappeared and was forgotten about. Makes you go hmmmmm

Taylor damn near beat Froch. Taylor is a dynamic yet vulnerable fighter. We have seen Ouma back him up all night but lose every round, a guy who is small at junior middle let along middle where they fought, we saw spinks get robbed IMO, another guy not huge for junior middle let along middle, we saw how hops and wright if they had done a bit more could have beat him, he did well in the second pav fight vs a guy that ko'd him that he nearly beat the first time

Just because Abraham did what he did it doesn't mean that Ward could do it. Maybe. It would have been interesting.

Hell, Taylor knows it would have been.....I can't blame him. I think he comes back into the mix at 68. Froch was damn close. Froch beat Pascal who is right at the top of 75.

If he retires and his memory loss is serious I can't blame him and I won't. But I predicted this before it was a media story.

Goosen is protecting Ward. The Kessler fight was a farce.

 

well that is some serious **** I would say. I dn't know how commonplace this is post KO but it doesn't sound good. What a rough sport. Then again I can remember blacking out from drinking and an entire evening was gone.
