I just found this article yesterday: http://articles.kspr.com/2011-08-30/flores-signs_29947550 So apparently BJ is inked with Don King for October 15, and it looks like he's trying to stay pretty active as his last fight was barely over a month ago. What do you guys think of his chances to actually earn a cruiserweight title shot soon with the help of king? He's currently ranked 4th in the WBO cruiserweight standings, but doesn't break the top 10 in the other organizations' rankings. That might be too big a jump from where he's ranked now to a title shot, but some of the current champions looking for what they might consider an "easier" defense simply based on BJ's ranking might take a chance on him (plus he has decent name recognition and potential for drawing power from being a frequent guest commentator on Friday Night Fights, not to mention he only has one loss so far). I saw his last fight in person and he looked great - he works the jab very well, doesn't get impatient and has pretty good defense. He seems to have a great sense of knowing when he's out of range for his opponent. I'm planning to watch his next fight and I hope he gets a title shot if he wins it, I just don't know if he'll be able to lure in one of the current cruiserwieght champs. With the help of Don King, who knows what he could get... Good luck El Peligroso.
don king signs these great white hopes than leaves them out in the rain where they rust, paul briggs is a good example although his 2 shots at ademeck where awsome thans to king he spent a yr not fighting... and look at his latest GWH mark de mori, 1 fight in 2 yrs .... expect BJ to have a long lay off or fight a bum in between..he wont be gettin a shot any time soon ps also look wat he has done to kali meehans career!
A DKP contract means years of inactivity. Sitting on the shelf. If BJ wanted a vacation, couldn't there have been an easier way than signing with DKP?
Flores sucks who cares what is he going to put him with club fighters because he just plain sucks. Don king must feel sorry for Flores.
Signed with King? He'll get the Adamek treatment when Tomasz was at 175...1 fight per year, no more, no less! :-(
