You have to love this guy's attitude. It's refreshing to see boxers who are able to put forth a respectable image for the sport. He's got a new fan in me.
I've only seen him fight Ding, and judging him off that fight alone I can't say I'm really a fan.. he did an awful lot of running.
agreed. he did very well last night. and even had some of my friends who are not big fight fans asking who he is.
He was an extremely eloquent and well-spoken individual. And from the clips of him playing football, he looked to be very athletic as well.
I don't like him because he runs too much. You can't run from Fields or that Williams kid and expect to win, and he's is throwing the names of champs.
Anybody looks bad while chasing down a track star. Flores was getting booed out of the ring and still got the horse **** nod. Ding won that fight IMO.
I'm not saying it looked good at all, and yes I was pissed to. But can you blame the guy for not standing infront of Ding?
No, but he took it to the other extreme. Choosing not to trade with a big pucher is one thing, running for your life is another.
I have been watching Flores for a few years now, believe it or not, the way he fought Ding is not his usual style. I guess he watched some videos of Ding and said "I'm not going toe to toe with this guy", I really dont blame him, why trade with a guy, when you can win a fight behind your jab and staying on the outside. I actually had the fight a draw, Ding didnt do enough to win, though he tried, and Flores ran most of the night and didnt land much. I believe Flores has the skills to be a top fighter and future title holder, I think we will see how good he is in the next coming fights, Ding's a hard fight for anyone.
