I agree with you.... however I am amazed that you don't see how that completely contradicts what you say about Wlad vs Ibragimov.atsch
Iggy is not a known puncher Widdow, Wlad is the 6'6 245 pound power puncher, I dont see the comparison between the two, But maybe you can inform me.
You said.... " I really dont blame him, why trade with a guy, when you can win a fight behind your jab and staying on the outside." It doesn't get anymore clear than that. It doesn't matter how huge of a puncher the person is supposed to be either... this is the heavyweight division, and most guys can pop. Iggy actually has pretty good punching power, only AFTER he fought Wlad does everyone act like he can't punch. I would like to know who's fist he was using in those knockouts that I saw him dish out.
I'm not saying Iggy dont have any pop, but his power is comaparable to Brocks, nothing special, never got close to knocking out Briggs or Holyfield, who are B- fighters at this stage in there careers. Ding is a known puncher, and no disrespect to Ding, but from what I seen that's just about all he got, aside from a great chin, of course Flores, who is a good boxer, and not entirely known for his power, is going to try and box him instead of trying to go toe to toe with the bigger puncher. Wlad had every physical advantage over Iggy, there is no excuse for not trying to take him out when he had the chance to do so.
I believe that was knockout of the year, good shot no doubt. Zuri Lawrence is not exactly known for having a good chin at all, last I checked he was knocked out like 6 or 7 times, a couple times to nobodys, I watched Iggy and Guinn take him out and most recently Rahman. The guy has a glass chin, but that Brock punch would of took out most Heavyweights.
I know, sad isnt it. Mccline is usually a pretty tough fighter for most top guys, like against Brock, Peter, Bryd, and Briggs, but seems to fall apart late in fights because of his stamina issues.
You just listed Brock as a top guy (which I agree).... yet before you said that you didn't consider Wlad's win over Brock to be a good win. See the frustration that I am dealing with?
When I say top guy, I mean a top 10 ranked oppenent, not a great fighter, something me and you both know Wlad has never faced before, Bryd of 2000/2001 was Wlads best win, something a another man by the name of Ike Ibeabuchi was able to do a year or two before hand, faster and by knockout in 5 rounds. Brock was a top fighter at the time, he was highly ranked, but I would be hard pressed to call him a good fighter, he's pretty good IMO.
Theres nothing wrong with my opinion Widdow, we just disagree on 90% of all things boxing related, this should be no big surprise to you. If you really think Brocks a great fighter, than your one in a very few, I got nothing against him, he's just nothing special in the Heavyweight division. Bryd and Peter are Wlads best wins, neither fighter is great, Bryd was very good in his prime, and in 05 a green Peter was good.
When did I say that Brock was a great fighter? You don't have to beat a GREAT fighter it to be considered a GOOD win.
Then why did you say "I give up", Brock was a pretty good win for Wlad, though far from ground breaking. Wlads last good win was over Peter IMO, not old Bryd, washed up Brewster, Journeymen Austin, or a decent fighter in Iggy. I feel the only good wins Wlad has had in his career are over a green Peter and a prime Bryd, other good wins for him in this division would be against Peter again, Valuev, or Chagaev. I feel Thompson is just decent, and Povetkin needs more experience at this stage in career before challenging a very good fighter in Wlad.
That's why I give up. It's just unbelievable. Yet, I saw you in another thread before calling Peter's win over McCline a good win. Just amazing.
