It was a good win because he only had 9 days to prepare for a completely different fighter on such short notice, aside from that coming back from 3 knockdowns to win the fight. I thought it was a good win, though I'm a big Peter fan, so caught me some slack.:yep
So... old McCline equals good win for Peter. Yet, young McCline, Brock (who beat McCline), Ibragimov (way better than McCline), ect... are not good wins for Wlad? You don't see the double standard? Do you think that McCline would have won his fight against Peter if he had trained harder?
You make a good point, but under the circumstances I think it was good win for Peter. If Peter had the proper time to prepare and get ready for Mccline, I wouldnt say it was a good win, just a decent win. To answer your second question, If both Peter and Mccline were fully prepared and healthy, Peter would of probably knocked him out in later rounds IMO, besides, Mcclines tests came back positive for illegal substance, so whatever type of steroid he was taking might of gave him another unfair edge against Peter that night. When Jim Gray asked him point blank about the positive test, he just said he didnt want to talk about it.
Before, you said that if McCline had trained harder, that he probably would have won. You're a train wreck man. BTW, McCline passed his drug test after the Peter fight.
Your right, I did say that. The Peter that fought Mccline that night, was terrible, if Mccline would of trained harder for better stamina, he would of beat that version of Peter. I think I just misunderstood the question you were asking, I hope I cleared it up with my answer.
Also... McCline's test was NOT positive for illegal substances after his fight with Peter. He passed his drug test. You were wrong on that.
Then why did Jim Gray ask him that question in the dressing room before the fight? I'm pretty sure he failed a test of some sort, because there would be no other reason why Gray would ask him such question, and to reply back "I dont want to talk about it", it sounds very fishy to me.
There were rumors that he had received previously received steroids. Why do you think that the question was BEFORE the fight? Had McCline tested postitive before the fight, there would have been no fight. They test AFTER the fight, and he passed. McCline obviously didn't want to talk about that rumor, because that is a pretty rude time to be asking questions of that nature. The man is trying to focus on a fight, not address rumors of steroids. He let the steroid test do the talking, and he passed.
I guess he cycled off before the fight, though Mccline did have to speak to a grand jury for 12,000 dollars worth of steroids and other drugs he purchased in 05 and 06, the guy is a cheat and known roid user.
You were right about the test results, though he is a known roid user, if he wasnt than why would he buy 12,000 dollars worth of roids over a 2 year span? Yesterday you called me liar for saying that Wlads face didnt turn blue and the commentators didnt bring it up, I was right about that, yet you never admitted you were wrong. It goes both ways Widdow, I have already told you in a earlier post, I dont know everything about boxing, and never claimed I did. Thats stop making a contest out of who's right and wrong all the time, instead of arguing over everything that really dont matter anyways.
Because it isn't true. Wlad never even came close to getting tired in that fight. Here is the final round up until the stoppage... does this look like a tired fighter with a blue face? [YT]aPzFM7U_YDg[/YT]
Widdow, the comment was made in the 3rd or 4th round, if you want I will dig out the fight from my collection and tell you what round and what the time was in the round if you really want me to. Wlad wasnt even close to as bad as he was in the Brewster fight, but during one of those rounds his face starting turning blue from throwing so many power punches, it easily apparent to any viewer that was watching the fight, lucky for Wlad he was able to recover and gain his composure enough to finish the fight stopping Mercer a couple rounds later.
He was dominating the fight, when did I say he was lucky enough to survive? I said he was lucky enough to recover and regain his composure to end Mercer a couple rounds later, Widdow, watch it from the 3rd round on and I dare you to call me a liar. His face looked bad enough for either Lampley or Merchant to comment on it, and was clear to any veiwer that was watching the fight that Wlad was throwing too many power punches and it was starting to show in the face.
