So BJ Penn, an UFC fighter who's sort of a legend in that sport, yesterday was suspended and removed from an upcoming UFC fight card, after disclosing to USADA that he had used an IV.

    http://mmajunkie.com/2016/05/b-j-penn-off-ufc-199-due-to-usada-violation

“The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed BJ Penn of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation,” the statement read. “Penn disclosed the usage of a prohibited method – the use of an IV in excess of 50 ML in a six-hour period – during a March 25, 2016, out-of-competition sample collection. In accordance with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, Penn has received a provisional suspension, and has been removed from his scheduled bout against Cole Miller on June 4 in Los Angeles."

    Sound familiar?

So this guy discloses to USADA that he's using an excess of 50ml of IV, and USADA's reponse is to immediately suspend and investigate him for drug usage. In the leadup to the Pacquiao fight, Floyd used an IV in excess of 50ml which he apparently disclosed to the USADA, but got some sort of waiver and nothing happened. Meanwhile, Pacquaio was denied a shot of painkiller for his shoulder. Can anyone make sense out of this, or does this stuff just smell more fishy.

Saw this news story and laughed...

Maybe if Penn paid them as much as Floyd he wouldn't have these problems.

For the record, Penn got hit for 50ml...Floyd got a retroactive waiver for FIFTEEN TIMES that amount.

I saw this and also laughed. Floyd had a free reign to do as he pleased in Boxing. No doubt juiced to the eye ***** for many years. But saying that im sure atleast half his opponents were on it too.

Povetkin Pumpers: Can't they just wait a couple weeks until the IV marks on his arm heal and then let him fight?

yall do know that the IV ban was only implemented in the UFC on October 1, 2015 right?

quote from an article on mmafighting.com

it was an initiative taken because the athletic commission didn't want fighters cutting to much weight and then using IV's to rehydrate. Before then IV use was widespread!

USADA should just issue a retroactive TUE for him.

:think Pacquiao´s own team messed up his paperwork.
And i figure Floyd got away because he simply brings in too much money for Nevada to loose.

Penn's mistake was not ponying up the cash for the Platinum Level USADA membership.

Next time, he shouldn't be so stingy with the greenbacks. First rule of winning at Vegas: tip everyone. Floyd's mastered it, realized the value of taking that concept everywhere he goes, and look at the benefits.
