Nick Diaz's stand-up isn't technical like Edgar's; Nick is a brawler.

 

He's much bigger than BJ and Edgar though. And I think he has better sparring partners than both.

 

bj penn will get knocked out for the first time in his life, and nick diaz is much better he has more heart, better ground game and bj penn is too old.

Im a huge Penn fan , but im also a studier of body language , and every time i see Penn these days he has this dimeanour of somebody who just doesnt look interested , i get worried that one bad / horryfying performance is just round the corner for Penn simply because of his approach to preperation

 

The walk forward swarming style suits Penn , he is an excellent counter puncher , specifically short counter hooks / uppercuts , and has heavy hands

 

Maybe Penn didn't want to say anything to hurt Nick's feelings or he might not show up for the fight.

I envision BJ Penn coming into this fight razor-sharp and fully focused. Diaz, to his credit, has been incredible in all of his Strikeforce fights. But despite what some have stated on this board, Penn is not too old nor too slow to deal with the exceptional skill set that Nick Diaz brings to the table. Look for Penn to land often and only Diaz's great heart, granite chin, conditioning, etc. will keep him from being stopped via stikes. Diaz does not get in and out like Edgar and will not be content to just ride out a boring decision. Diaz wants to lay a hurting on his opponents and this will play right into the legend BJ Penn's hands. Look for either a corner or doctor stoppage because of facial cuts or a lopsided Penn unanimous decision.

BJ Penn all the way in this one.
