BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz @ 170lbs (5 rd fight)

kj noons is qaulity boxer ive seen most of his pro boxing fights,far better hands than gsp and nick stood and boxed his head off.every 1 has own opinions just ashame cant happen

 

I don't know if you've seen the fight, but even though Noons is a quality boxer, he boxed horribly in that fight. He uppercut the air all night from ridiculous range, he looked so clueless. Diaz knew what to expect from Noons, a pure boxer with no takedowns, no kicks and no clinch game, yet he stood 5 rounds. It would be a lot harder for Diaz to predict what's coming against GSP, he's way too well rounded for Diaz, he would keep him guessing the whole fight. Against BJ, who knows, he's smaller and gasses faster, but I still think he'd be too much for Diaz.

But as you said, to each his own opinion. I just don't see Diaz as good as he's being portrayed.

 

Diaz's boxing isn't better than bj's if you think it is you don't know boxing!

 

Diaz to me in the WW division in the UFC, I'm almost certain loses to.

Just imo, I do think Diaz gets too much credit considering the level of fighters he's beaten, though I do admire his style.

Penns offensive boxing is alot better his jab is the best in the game his timing is great IMO when on form he has the best boxing in the game! He's fighting better people aswell, who diaz fought? Frank shamrock is shot who else has he fought kj noons who is prob not even top 10!

 

Noons isn't a highly rated boxer decent hands for mma but that's it, he's not some monster striker! And gomi is just a slugger with power! For me Diaz is the same class as Diego Sanchez not bad but not really a top dog!

 

A) It has everything to do with it. People look better against lesser competition. FACT. Diaz has never fought, let alone beat, a world class fighter.

B) Frank Shamrock? Just stop. He was relevant like 15 years ago.

C) Why do you say he is better now than he was when he was in the UFC? Are you speaking relative to the competition out there he has improved more? Do you think he has progressed more than Diego Sanchez? If so, that is a very bold statement being that Diego was relatively new to MMA when he beat Diaz, as opposed to Diaz being very well accustomed to the sport. To say Diaz improved more than the "green" sanchez did after that is very questionable.
I know he's improved, but he hasn't evolved from what he was. He has just fought lesser opposition, so he's looked better. :deal
