I was always suspicious of Sherk.
I wouldn't say I thought it was obvious because I would be unwilling to throw around allegations without evidence.

But yeah, now its been announced...............I'm not exactly surprised

I think a lot of fans and even knowledgable posters are very naive when it comes to drugs in sports.....Most nearly every strength, combat, endurance sport competitior at the top level takes drugs of some kind, either steroids, hgh, dieuretics or all three....How the guys rationalise it as not cheating is that everybody is doing it and you will fall behind or lose an edge if you dont juice....The money these guys can earn is the only way to go for many of them,or they could alternatively earn minimum wage in burger king....
When i trained with weights many years ago i used steroids for nearly a year, only a few select people knew and not many suspected anything....But i was much bigger, much stronger on the weights and recovered very quickly while having a lot of stamina at the much higher weight of 200 lbs, as compared to 147 now...
I knew i could no way compete with other body builders if i was natural,i read all the literature on gear and discovered tennis players, american footballers, track athletes, wrestlers, boxers and many others took steroids and other drugs....
I think many of you are putting their heads in the sand or being naive, how do you think fighters lose 15 lbs in one day then put it back the next day? Answer: Dieuretics like lasix and furesimide, american high school wrestlers know this well.....And steroids are the breakfast of many champions along with the richer mans growth hormone... PRO Body building is the only sport which is somehwat honest about its drug use,all the guys on the olympia stage will admit they have used steroids regularly...
Drug testing techniques can be beaten, there is no test for growth hormone, and some steroids like winstrol are water based and so can be out of your system before the fight drug test....
Roy jones was caught years ago with a positive steroid test and nobody admits what this means.....Anybody who disses sherk should also diss toney, jones, holyfield, botha, tyson and many others...To me the legacy of these guys is diminshed because the olden guys never had these goodies....
As for balco, well look at the diminshed powers of mosley and jones after this scam hit the headlines...
Face it,modern sport is RIFE with drug use, administrators should either legalise all drugs under medical supervision or have a zero tolerance policy.....
The funny thing is boxing is a sport where you could be the best without steroids, yet some still choose to cheat like this......

By the way, those who want detailed evidence for guys like holyfield, mosley, micheal johnson, etc taking steroids and say they are innocent till proven gulity, well i think an appropriate analogy is with those guys who claim never to have masturbated.....You dont have to catch them in the act spanking the ******,you KNOW they are BULLSHITTING........

To be honest i think your very disrespectful. All those men landed MMA sqaurely on the map.Coleman and Randleman are not my favoruite cup of tea and certainly never evolved as true MMA artists but both excelled at what they did and both were champions of the respective trade, Randleman winning the heavyweigh crown in the UFC and Coleman the 2000 Grand Prix back in 2000.You casually dismiss then as bums but completely fail to realise or acknowledge that they were in years past the pinnacle of there sport, still continue to fight the best out there, and on ANY given night are STILL live contenders.

As for Kimo his had a relatively succesful career in MMA and the K1 but you can hardly call him a bum.His been in the ring with some of the best operators in MMA since the early 90`s.That has to count for something wether you like it or not and his name is STILL a recognised quantity in MMA.

I think my analogy was too sophisticated and specific for mister scurla.....Anyway,those who want to continue fantasising that their heroes are drug free then continue.....who am i to burst their bubble of delusion.....?

On the contrary `mon ame` i too agree that Steroids are rife in sports let alone combat sports. But it is wholly unfair to brashly presume that EVERYONE is on some form of hormone with such a ridiculous analogy.

I agree , Randleman is no bum. Christ , he gave Fedor the worst slam I have ever seen, it is amazing he even lived. Coleman also is tough to beat. I do think both are on steroids though , as well as Coleman's lackey, Phil Baroni.

Randy Couture is 15-8.Id hardly call that a great record.BUT NO ONE questions Randys legitmacy as one of the best at his trade.I guess by your lofty standards his just above the level of a bum.

Its interesting to note that you keep bleating on about his 2-7 in his last fights but completely failed to realised that the comp he was fighting were the likes of Fedor,Shogun,Sakuraba,Cro Cop and Ron Waterman. Bar Waterman who had at least a 60lb advantage on Randleman and was a former bodybuilder the aforementioned 4 are a lock for the hall of fame.No shame there id say.

Baroni was a former amatuer bodybuilder before he returned to wrestling and MMA. Its common knowledge that despite there skills Randleman and Coleman (including Baroni) have been juicing for a LONG time.

Scurla,i am not saying that EVERYBODY is on gear, just that a large portion of guys are, there are tell tale signs...In strength sports and some combat sports nearly ALL of the top guys are on them except for the gentically gifted guys who can still compete natural...
My analogy is not meant to sentence anyone to a prison term, just showing that sometimes things are pretty obvious but cant be proved by concrete evidence...
My biggest beef is jones got caught and nobody says anything......Hypocrisy really.....

    Very true scurla.....
I think back now and what a scapegoat ben johnson was.....i mean probably all the line up was on gear,he just used it best and trained hard....Lewis and michael johnson, though super athletes, make me sick when they rant in the studio about drugs in sport and banning athletes for life, when to me its obvious they used as well, just that they had better undetectable drugs,or had deals with the drug testers to keep quiet as they were cash cows.......
