Does anyone here think anyone is a threat to him right now?

I think he can own 155lbs and 175 lbs for sure. I can't think of anyone who even comes close except for GSP, both fighters are at the top of there game right now and I think both wieght classes are stuck with those two champs for a really long time.

I thought BJ's stand up was amazing last fight against Sherk, he had an awesome jab.

I am on the BJ Penn bandwagon by the way if you haven't noticed:lol:

I think GSP comes more than close at 170, and I would predict a far more clear outcome than the first fight. Penn is pretty much the same as he was when he first fought GSP, but GSP has only gotten better and better.

I honestly don't think it would be a close fight.

GSP is the only threat to BJ Penn in the near vicinity. If we're talking match ups with fighters outside the UFC, then there are at the very least challenges such as Aoki, Eddie Alvarez, or Urijah Faber. That said, I would favor Penn over anyone in below 170.

The GSP vs Penn rematch should bring both men to another level.

BJs the best. GSP can surely beat him at 170..
Strong and skilled that GSP kid. But dont dare stand up with BJ, BJ will hurt that head. He needs to take him down ASAP and avoid submissions, his only chance.

Penn will be 200X's more motivated and focused this time around...that is the truth too! I would still favor GSP, but You could see a clear difference in the first fight between when Penn wasn't gassed and when he was. He is a nightmare to takedown when he isn't gassed. :deal

I disagree. GSPs standup is very very strong and I think the only position GSP truly needs to avoid is his back.

GSP has very nice form..fancy actually..he can do that spinning kicks all day against Hughes and look like Van Damme in the process. Against cagey strikers with strong boxing skills and someone who can brawl technically...That thing wont work..

He wouldnt even stand with Koscheck who is as wild a puncher as you can get.

That was strategy. Why stand with a guy when you know you can take him down and dominate him on the ground. And when GSP was standing he was getting the better of him with leg kicks and 'superman jabs' which is the first time I'd ever seen that in the octagon. Thats like saying BJ was afraid to go to the ground with Sherk...wrong. Just strategy.

Its just my opinion that GSps been tentative on his feet lately after that Serra KO..thats understandable..Like I said Id favor him because I dont think Penn can sub him from his guard. The only way BJ wins this is really if he catches GSP in the few seconds theyre on their feet and for some reason he keeps his cardio and is impossible to take down.. BJs TD Defense is the key..Hed edge GSP standing up IMHO

GSP brings a very mixed bag of skills. He has very good standup, amazing wrestling, and a pretty solid jujitsu game. I envision him beating most of his opponents from now on using a multi-faceted game.

I think GSP can take Penn down if he wants, but it's not as if Penn dominated the standup in their first fight. He won the standup in the first round, but also there is the issue with GSPs eye.

I think GSP has one of the best standup games in the WW division and I see no reason for him to be afraid to stand with Penn.

The standup in their first fight was almost even besides the eye poke and the grazing punch that caused his nose to bleed. For a simple person B.J. "dominated" the standup...but when GSP decided to take him down it was to score points because the stand up was so close. Besides how many guys had that many takedowns against B.J. in one fight. And why wouldn't GSP take people down...he does it at will.

Like I said before before, both fighter are a t a completely differen't level right now. I don't think you will see two fighters dominate there divisions like this for a very long time.

The two are both at there career peak and a fight between them would be amazing!!!
