Let’s be serious. All he needs to do is finish the fight and he wins. Do you know what that does for a fighter psychologically?

Canelo's only loss has been in a fight he finished.

At least Smith is willing to fight another top guy and he isn't just all talk...
He has been training before the fight and the only reason it took so long to announce the fight is the fact that both Smith and Plant refused t agree to a rehydration clause.

Always trust a gypsy who randomly knocks on your door and swears on his mom's life that he'll tarmac your drive for cost price.

It means that if you say Black truth, you're racist. If you say White truth, your racist.

When Wilder recently complained about scheming in the sport, do you support him or ridicule him?

When Fury/Saunders have throughout their careers complained about scheming in the sport, you congratulate them.

I understand both fighters had been in training for quite a while with a December date in mind. I think Canelo beats Smith who I am not totally convinced by even though he beat my mate The Saint George Groves though I know Greoves was handicapped with the elbow injury going in hence could not shoot the jab as normal.

One thing: Hasn't Smith been training every day too? Sparring and everything? I don't even have a big money fight lined up, far from it, but I still train every day. Don't you folks?

TBH I don't buy all of this. Smith has been plotting a route to fighting Canelo for years. During that time he's surely worked on a game plan, watched tapes, sparred with Canelo in mind - between camps for other fights or during his long lay offs from boxing. A Canelo fight is the pot of gold at the end of the boxing rainbow, it's worthy of consideration and planning; and doesn't Gallagher claim to be a student of the sport?

Same cannot be said for Canelo regarding Smith. He's just one name in a long list of potential opponents. There's no way Canelo will have thought much about him until it was looking likely they'd fight.

Yes, the Canelo short notice strategy is a bit underhand and an attempt to gain an advantage but we all know about it, and so should Gallagher and Smith.

And they knew of or at least could have reasonably estimated a likely fight date and adjusted his out-of-camp routine accordingly.

In short, yes all this will impact to a degree (what A-side/B-side context does not?), but the extent to which it does, is down to Smith's mindset as a professional.
