Yup, you've very clearly never even attempted to learn the principles of BJJ. See? I'm not making groundless assumptions. I'm going off of what you said and making an educated guess that you've never done anything even resembling BJJ. Now, since I don't agree that boxing by itself would be the best thing ever, you're immediate assumption is to say, "Oh, well, he's probably just never done boxing! Because otherwise, he'd know better." No, I have done boxing. I know how effective it can be. But, I'm not ignorant of reality and when you take reality into account, alot of pure boxing simply doesn't apply in a wide range of possible situations.
I have trained in wrestling, and dabbled in BJJ. I admit, I haven't stuck with it but I learned enough. Judging by your answers, you indeed have not trained in boxing or you probably went in one day and learned the basics. There is so much into boxing that it would blow your mind. I admit, some styles are just asked for a take down but as far as fighters who like to use their feet, it's just not going to happen
No, no you haven't. I'd be shocked if you had at all. If you have done wrestling, you'd know how absurdly easy it is to take someone down who doesn't know how to properly defend. And dabbled in BJJ meaning...what? You've watched the instructional videos posted here that teach one move? No. I'd strongly doubt that you've been involved in anything resembling BJJ. And no, it wouldn't blow my mind. I'm very much aware of how complex boxing is. You're not going to need to convince me of that. It's very obvious to anyone who has studied it and watches it. However, it's primary function is in boxing matches. Within boxing rules. It doesn't teach you to deal with all these other possible scenarios. BJJ as you see in MMA isn't all there is. Self-Defense oriented BJJ covers basically everything you're saying it doesn't. So, on that, I conclude...and you can feel free to point out the flaw in my reasoning to suggest that I'm wrong, that you've never in your life done anything other then maybe boxing. And as far as that very last comment? Yeah, that's a golden example of not taking reality into account, also that you really haven't done any wrestling whatsoever. Sorry, but what you're saying and believe do not track with the real world.
Oh god, this is how I know you are full of ****. Take downs are extremely commited, if you have a moving target it just makes it that much difficult. When you're going after a constantly moving target, a takedown turns into a hit or miss. As far as RULES, each sport has a set of rules. Like BJJ there is no punches... see there... your logic just got owned. Your views are completely biased.
See kids? This is called trying to save your ass by attempting to make the other guy look like he doesn't know what he's saying thus taking any pressure off of any dumb things you might have said. If you were a wrestler you would have known to say that some takedowns are extremely committed. Others are not, and often happen in less then a second. Sport BJJ, there are no punches. But, I clearly...clearly denote a difference between sport BJJ and Self-Defense Oriented BJJ. See? You're wrong. Again. And again. And yes, my views are 100% biased. I'm very biased toward evidence and reality. Seems that you don't put too much clout into either of those. If someone were to show me undisputable evidence that boxing was, by far, the best individual fighting style out there, I'd change my mind in a heartbeat. That's what it means to take reality into account. You're not doing that. No matter what I say, or who doesn't agree with you, you'll never change your mind. You've got it in your head that boxing is it. That's all you need. When most people have figured out that no, it's not enough (relatively speaking).
You talk so much about evidence, but you have yet to provide it. All you're doing is talking out of your ass
Just here to add that I'll respond to your reply at a later time (probably later tonight) and I'm not doing it now cause....well, I don't really feel like it cause that's alotta typing and after awhile it gets annoying. Just didn't want it thought that I was dodging your reply.
