Im 31 and not in bad shape ! I'm getting sick of doing the weights and can't stand running etc ! And the other day I thought **** it I'm going to give BJJ or Muay Thai a go ! I've got two kids but I think I could still go about 3 times a week and still keep all of there activities going ! I'm not interested in fighting in competitions etc ( never say never though ) I just want to train and spar !
Depends which you like training more. This: This content is protected or this: This content is protected
^^^ That is classic! As RJJ said it really depends on what suits you more. Your own taste is key, what do you prefer watching? Who are your fight heros, strikers or grapplers? As the man said do you prefer hitting or grabbing. Body shape and size can help you decide. Does yours suit MT ot BJJ? I personally think MT is a smaller man's sport, not sure about BJJ as I've never tried it, but it seems to accommodate big powerful guys pretty well. You said running is an issue? Is that cos of dodgy knees if so maybe stay away form MT lots of wear and tear on the knees in MT. Running is pretty curical to MT as well. On the positve side MT training is second to none if you just wanna get fit, learn how to knock someone on thier arse with an elbow, and have a **** load of fun smashing things with your shins! Can't speak for BJJ.
Just doing it for fitness really ! No dodgy knees just find running soul destroying lol ! I'm 5'8" about 12 stone but could lose half to a full stone pretty easy with training !
Lose the stone and you've got the cut of an MT warrior! (I'm 5'8 myself) A bit of MT training, obviously it won't be like this in Wales but it shouldn't be too different either if it's a good gym. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTVnIDlYbXA[/ame]
