Let me explain this to you so that you can clearly understand it. The day before that, BJS said and did some things to Monroe that was below the belt and very disrespectful. Monroe should have gotten the message then that BJS has no love for or respect for him in any capacity. At that point, his only focus should have been getting the business of the fight done so that he can handle his business in that ring

Now,regardless of whether BJ's son should have been there or not, the fact remains that he was there and Monroe had no business putting his hand on his head for any reason. That kid had no love for Monroe or respect for Monroe either. He knew that Monroe was about to fight his father and he did what his father taught him to do and he's not at fault. Monroe should have known better because that wasn't part of his job at that weigh in.

I am not saying that he should have any anger towards the kid but he should feel real stupid and kick his own self in the ass. This crap reminds me of the Loma and Axeman weigh in. Too much passivity coming from Monroe and that's a victim position. I am not a fan of BJ's at all and I have no respect for him or his antics, I am just calling it like I see it and I hope that Monroe man up and give a good accounting of himself and don't sell out like that hoe ass Axeman did.

That wasn't a bad response but I still have my doubts and Monroe got to get down like a real one to erase them from my mind. He gotta make me know it was all part of his master plan.

I understand your point, but you still can't condone his sons actions. And I say that as a big fan of Billy's.

I've watched the entire build up.

Some of it may have been for the cameras, and some of it may have been genuine animosity. But Willie Monroe wasn't about to take his frustrations out on a child. He patted his head in a friendly manner as if to say: "what are you doing next to the scales?" That's really the only way to see it.

It just sounds silly when you phrase it in the manner that you have done: "He had no business putting his hands on him..."

It was clearly completely innocent. Yet your phrasing implies that he was mistreated.

Monroe wasn't in the wrong at all for being friendly and gently patting his head. It happens all of the time. That's how adults greet kids. There was nothing wrong with it.

That's the way any reasonable person should see it. So many bizarre and classless responses on this thread. Those insisting Monroe should've slapped the kid are as bad as those actually defending Saunders. Monroe was a commendable sportsman and mature adult every second.

Nothing I stated sounded silly. It's like you are lost in a different time zone. I'll tell you what, go out there and challenge a man to a fight, then listen to the man as he dresses you up and down with scandalous names, snatch your glassed off your face and disrespect your mama to boot. Then you reach over with a stupid grin on your face and try and pat his son on the head and watch what happens. You can take it anyway you want but I don't have hidden meaning in what I write. I call it like I see it and I mean it like it's written.

Monroe assumed he was dealing with an uncontaminated child's mind. That was his mistake.

He shouldn't be happy about that: there's no point in him only doing it the one time if he then regresses back into his slovenliness afterwards.
