True, but not only the loss to Floyd, but also the experience of going 12 rounds with Lara, and the 24 rounds with GGG. The 24 rounds with GGG gave him the experience of going 12 rounds against the same fighter with two completely different styles and being successful at both. I think a lot of people underestimate what those wars with GGG did for his confidence. After he went all those rounds with GGG, and came out victorious, that made Canelo so much more confident. If he could get through GGG, and come out victorious, who else out there is badder or tougher than GGG? Probably no one. This is where I disagree, while it's debatable if BJS is more difficult stylistically than Floyd was, most would probably think not, I still think he brings something distinctly different than Floyd did. Mayweather didn't really box Canelo and use his footwork to the extent BJS will. Mayweather stood in front of him for the most part, worked behind the jab setting up straight rights and at times traded with him. Saunders has faster feet than Mayweather and is more awkward stylistically, so I do think BJS will bring something distinct that Canelo has never seen before. Saunders also has a self belief that he will win that I'm not sure anyone who has fought Canelo has had since Canelo fought Mayweather. Unlike Mayweather, Saunders will be on his bike, and he has a large ring to work with, Saunders whole gameplan I think is to stay on the outside, but take calculated risks as to when to engage, trying to frustrate Canelo by giving him footwork. And I do think Saunders is a bigger puncher than Lara was, so not only can he box, but he can bang too. It's a fascinating stylistic match this, it really is.
The idea BJS isn't extremely skilled is pretty silly. Every top fighter who deals with him in sparring or fights admits he is. He's had a few slacker performances, so what. He dropped and beat Lee who was flying high at that point. Lemieux is extremely dangerous. He apparently gave Groves a lot of trouble in sparring. Liam Williams gave BJS high praise after sparring. Murray just dealt with him and came away very impressed. All those guys have fought/sparred high level opponents. Why doesn't anyone who deals with BJS in the ring ever say he is overrated?
I predict we will no in the 1st round whether he will at least try to back up the talk. I totally believe Billy when he says he thinks he can beat Canelo and he's not going to lie down lol. I think he truely believes in himself but some part of me thinks it might all change when he gets punched in the face lol. I hope he is prepared to dig deep and risk getting koed to win
Eubank Jr feels he is overrated and says so. Andy Lee and Lemieux are not Santos Saul “El Canelo “Alvarez Barragan that’s for sure.
The reference were to people they have fought and their opinions. Eubank Jr fight with Saunders is extremely relevant in my opinion because he was very green then. He basically gave away the first half of the fight to Saunders then put it on him. 1 judge gave him the verdict the other 2 went for Saunders narrowly. Going life and death with a then green Eubank Jr does not bode well for BJS. I simply say tell me one fighter just one on the same level as Canelo that Saunders has faced. Just give me one please. I can name at least 10 guys better than Saunders , Canelo has fought.
I told you the premise being debated but what is even more important irrespective of Eubank's Jr opinion is actually what transpired in the fight. I notice you could not answer my question about BJS competition level compared to "El Canelo".
I didnt try to Olu Saunders hasn't faced anyone on Clens level Thats obvious, not many have Give me 10 better then as you say
Watching you obsess over Canelo because he's the P4P king who Floyd once beat, is one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen on here. If Floyd hadn't have beaten him, you probably wouldn't even be a fan of his. The only reason you ride him is because you think it raises Floyd's stock. If BJS wins it'll devalue your hero's win. You'll then need to see a psychiatrist. Enjoy your weekend.
