I`ve heard Eubank SR talking about Groves and Saunders and he says Saunders isn`t a top class fighter, yet he doesn`t give any reason, he sounds like a casual fan who knows nothing about boxing and didn`t even access why his son was defeated, he just talks about being hard and having spirit! I think Saunders win over David L. can be compared to Eubanks win over Benn at middle. Benn was nothing but a big puncher at middle but was able to catch Eubank much more than David L. was 7 hours ago, I feel Saunders is far harder to hit than Eubank was at that stage, Saunders also uses the jab far better than Eubank did even vs Watson where he had improved, was Eubank overrated and is his son the same?

Eubank never won convincingly on points ever. I watched him lose a lot of fights and get the decisions.

His style of boxing was to counter, then pose, then counter. Chris snr was brave, he took a great punch and he always retaliated with strength. But if a guy wanted to stay outside and box without hurting him like Ray close did then eubank would be outboxed. Like he always was.

In my view Eubank really lost on points to Malinger, Ray close x2, Nigel Benn, Dan Schommer which is 5 extra losses. There were a lot of other fights that went the distance that could have been draws. Eubank just didn’t do enough in quiet rounds.

Eubank himself admits that he hated movers, Saunders probably outboxes him to a decision.
