Froch would've had too much for Saunders. He'd maybe lose a few rounds in the process of wearing him down and getting to him, hurting him and finishing him. Froch KO sometime in the 2nd half of the fight.

Froch makes him fall on his own leg.

Not to mention Froch is also a much better fighter than Lemieux.

What do you mean you’d even back Kessler, he beat Froch even though he was shopworn...

What's ignored about Billy Joe Saunders is his chin. It's as strong as you'll see, he's barely been wobbled nevermind put down. Froch isn't knocking him out and no way would he win more rounds than BJS. I'm sure Carl would rally towards the end but Billy would hang on to win a UD.

I'm talking about prime Froch btw.

And you're talking about Saunders against Lemieux as though that's what he's like every fight.

The Saunders who turned up against Eubank, Akavov, Lee, Ryder and so on is getting battered by Froch.

Edit to add - Lemieux isn't even that good!

Saunders is currently in fantastic shape. He's with Davison now who is proving he can keep poorly motivated guys in shape. Tyson Fury for example has never been in shape for such a prolonged period of time. I'm confident Billy's days of blowing up and turning up unprepared for fights are behind him. I really hope so because Britain hasn't produced many fighters with his level of skill.

We know Lemieux isn't that good, that's why he didn't land a glove on Billy. We know Froch has had trouble with slippery guys; Taylor, Dirrell, Groves, Ward to name several. He got a gift decision v Dirrell and stopped Taylor and Groves. I don't believe he could stop Saunders, who is carrying granite in his chin. Therefore, I see Saunders winning a decision. No doubt in my mind tbh.

Froch would bulldoze through him around the 9th round.

BJS gets way too much hype on here. He squeaked by Andy Lee cause of the 2 knockdowns. Funny how he gasses late in a lot of fights but didn't really vs Lemieux and then gets busted for the so called nasal spray, what a coincidence!

Lemieux is a bum compared to Froch lol.

Absolutely. I don't think there's a fighter with a one off win that so many people hang their hats on.

Golovkin did exactly the same to Lemieux as Saunders did but he stopped him in eight which Saunders never looked like doing. And for every other Saunders narrow win his supporters have a ready made excuse. I don't get it. Talk of him being one of our greatest pound for pound fighters ever is absolutely laughable.

27-0 former world champion. O'Sullivan, Eubank Jr, Ryder, Monroe, Lee and Lemieux on the resume. All solid names. His obvious talent has been on display since the amateurs for anyone who isn't ignorant enough to ignore it. He's still only 29 and likely has his best years ahead of him.

You don't like him, just like you don't like his pal Tyson Fury. Is it a coincidence you don't give either a fair shake? I think not....

I'm looking forward to Billy proving a lot of people wrong. Only a matter of time because he is a class fighter who is training his arse off atm.

Solid names without any standout names to be fair. Saunders operated during an era when there was Golovkin, Canelo and Jacobs all at middleweight and he fought none of them. Who did Froch not fight at super middle? He went after the very best.

Shame that people would use the fact Froch lost to an all time great in Andre Ward to criticise him, but pile praise on Saunders for beating an average Lemieux to the extent that he's one of our 'greatest pound for pound fighters ever.'

Billy's resume certainly lacks that marquee name. However, at 29 he's plenty of time to get it. Saunders resume is actually stronger than Froch's was when he was 29. Who had Froch fought at 29? Robin Reid?

I never criticised Froch for losing to Ward. I merely threw Ward's name in with several others he struggled against.

Froch had a world class jab himself, which hit alot harder than Saunders jab. Plus, over 10 cm reach advantage. Reminds me of when most people were saying George Groves jab would be hitting Callum Smith all night, it never as he has a world class jab himself and like Froch over Saunders a big reach advantage.
