Better question is Floyd vs Hagler at 160 who you got?

What dopey @MVC hasn't yet realised is that BJS' epic performance has eclipsed any of that of his hero Floyd Joy Sinclair and now the slick gypsy should be rightly considered the more skilled operator prime for prime.

Would anyone pick FMJ to beat Hagler? No! But super skilled Billy boy, you bet! Bill also smashes Floyd at 160 and if motivated to get down to a lower weight gives him a boxing lesson wherever they meet.

Hes got that cocky gypsy confidence, where hes convinced he wont lose and performs confidently. Slightly mad as well. I noticed the bully in him pre fight with Monroe and Lemieux, so he gains the upper hand before the bell rings for round 1 too ! Theres a really dirty streak(personality not fouling) in Billy Joe and that helps him no end

Yeah. On a more serious note I agree. Unfortunately for Billy though that won't work on Golovkin or Canelo who have seen it all really.

DL and Monroe were target practice for GGG. Still with his age looking to catch up with him perhaps BJS thinks he has Father Time in his corner in any bout with the Kazakh.

imo, he has the style to keep moving against the slowing GGG and nick it on points, stinks the place out in the process but a mover like that will be hard work now for Golovkin. Hope i'm wrong even though BJ's British as i'm a big fan of the Kazakh's. I honestly cant see Canelo beating him either, Jacobs is the one that comes closest imo, big at the weight and young/prime enough with skills, i'd still back Saunders though

Hagler is best compared to JMWs. Hes at a size disadvantage against every modern MW. Expecially Jones and Hopkins.

GGG comes nowhere close to handling Hagler. At my age (42), I’m fairly certain I’ll never see another Hagler in my lifetime.

Hagler struggled with lesser fighters than GGG. Infact the more I think the more I cant decide who wins !

Hagler struggled with boxers and judges who expected him to blitz everyone lest they give his opponents the benefit of the doubt for close rounds.

GGG’s Mexican style mentality would play right into Hagler’s hands. Even if GGG fought from the outside, like he did early against Lemieux, his heavy hands would awaken the most Marvelous version of Hagler. After tasting a few of GGG’s stiffest punches from range, Hagler would bite down on his gum-shield and walk through fire to close distance and draw GGG into a battle of attrition. Unfortunately for GGG, Abel Sanchez doesn’t wrap hands like Panama Lewis and/or Margarito’s trainer did.

No contest. Hagler by easy and early stoppage.

Frankly, I am blown away by this thread. Saunders? Who the hell is he? I mean really. Saunders is a nobody.

Saunders victory was impressive but Lemieux was another Jeff Lacy in that
he was a just a one dimensional fighter with big left hook. Hagler could adapt ,
box or slug and would attack Saunders with a body attack and stop him late.
