If Eubanks Jr knocks out Groves, which I think he will, he will be regarded as the top guy at 168. A win over a the top guy at 168 is not too shabby at all.

I'm still disappointed that Eubanks Jr vs GGG didn't take place...that may have been a more competitive fight than we expected.

Of course Bjs never gets any credit from mainstream cause he lives in a caravan/gypsy. It's a witch hunt, Saunders should be in every p4p

The O'Sullivan fight showed me all I need to see for my bet on Eubank vs GGG. Eubank loses when trying to box and he gets destroyed trying to go to war with GGG. This next fight with Groves will be Eubank jrs first step up since his loss. I Think hes a solid fighter but id wait til he beats Groves before pitting him with any elite boxer. Lets also not forget that GGG would be a large betting favorite over Groves himself.

i don't think it was a big deal; no one thought it was at the time

for one thing, that win was over three years ago, whatever reputation Eubank Jr has now, he had only domestic-level experience when he fought BJS; Eubank Jr's last opponent before the BJS fight had a record of 23 - 17 - 3

BJS also won that fight by split decision--it was close

what's more, even if Eubank Jr defeats Groves, that doesn't make him #1 at SMW

Groves might be the favorite to win the Super Series, and indeed he might even win it, but the fact is that a large share of the best SMWs did not participate, for instance:
    • Benavidez
    • (Zurdo) Ramirez
    • Anthony Dirrell
    • James DeGale
    • Caleb Truax
in fact the holders of three of the four major straps at SMW are not in the tournament (IBF, WBO, and WBC)--ie, Groves is the only title-holder in the SS

He gets no respect because he spent two years in limbo while talking ****.
But the tables are starting to turn. His complete schooling of Lemieux has made a lot of noise.
And Eubank will draw some attention to BJS as well.

Not only is that win underrated, but his wins over especially Lee, then O'Sullivan, Monroe Jr., Ryder, Blackwell and Blandmura are also underrated as well.

Both Eubank and Saunders ran from Golovkin, refused to fight him!!! That is a proven fact! Still a good win for Saunders though..............

Gypsies are discriminated against no doubt. At the same time BJS acts like a complete ***** 99% of the time he's given any sort of platform.

Jnr was very inexperienced in that fight and is a different fighter these days. Both fighters have improved significantly over the last few years.

I'd still fancy BJS to repeat his points win if they ever faced each other again.

Maybe it looks a bit underrated now, but at the time... BJS had way more amateur experience, and had fought at a better level at Pro. Not sure what the odds were, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't the favourite going into that fight.
