This is the first I hear of this. Smaller ring (a pit, actually), shorter rounds and way less padding in the gloves So Vera and Rosado are now going the butterbean route? I don't like the way this "new" sport is sounding.
PPV here in the states. I personally don't like the sound of it. Boxing is much, much more than just knockout punches and brawling
Rosado's paper skin will always be his downfall and get him into trouble whether hes leading on the scorecards or not . Brian Vera will defeat him .
I know squat about this. Educate me. I saw it advertise a while back and figured it was not "official" pro boxing but didn't look into it. Now I see Brian Vera is fighting Gabe Rosado. I'm definitely up for this fight but it's not on boxrec. Is this BKB stuff not official;y part of our regular boxing at all? Two name fighters from regular boxing doing it but not as part of their official record? Who follows this stuff? I wouldn't have paid it any attention if it weren't for these guys signing up for it. I would think having another professional offshoot would end up being worse for us than different sanctioning bodies already do. It'd muddy the waters badly if it took off, wouldn't it? Or is this a good thing? Could we get into territory where instead of additional drug testing we'll have guys going "I'll fight you under BKB rules." in place of "I'll fight you under such and such a drug testing." and then a bunch of bickering about who's *really* ducking. Ugh.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XnDDI_8O2I BKB Unfiltered lets you step into the Pit of BIG KNOCKOUT BOXING! This docu-series follows the fighters as they prepare for the BKB Championship Title Fight! I have a mixed opinion.
Yeah, just in the last few weeks. For a guy like me, who has always preferred action fighters to the "sweet scientist" types, this is very intriguing. As a fan, I am fully honest about the fact that I love to see clean KOs and lots of mayhem. This thing sounds like it fits my inclinations to a "T"
From what I understand, BKB is not considered an "official" bout. The fights are 5 or 7 rounds long, consisting of 2 minutes per rounds. The fight takes place in a pit or bowl styled area, no ropes. BKB is the equivalent of XFL to NFL, etc.
I dont like this at all. Rosado vs Vera in a normal ring would be a war put that on the undercard of Froch vs Chavez or something. Putting them in this tiny arena thing someone is going to get hurt badly because they are going to be forced to fight the whole time.
