Well, I'm not sure about all those forty year old bums with losing records, but hey, at least they got some chicks.

 

They have a problem with the glove size in boxing, hand wraps, but bare knuckle?! Don't think it will last if it does happen, too many will get hurt.........................seriously..............

 

One would hope that TBA guy is super-durable: look how many times he is fighting on the undercard!

 

As has been alluded to already in the thread, numerous accounts of 18th and 19th Century bare-knuckle contests tell of bouts being filled with clinching / mauling / wrestling with a smattering of punches being thrown (basically because as has already been mentioned, the cautious / tentative nature of knowing that one missed punch could spell disaster) with a round ending only when one combatant was knocked down or unable to continue (which was brought into effect by 'Broughton's Rules', circa 1743).

Even though it is happening in Wyoming and not, say, Nevada or California, I do think this card / event will be very tightly regulated, to be honest with you; because if it isn't, there will be far too much backlash and the idea will end up being blocked from permeating into the mainstream and becoming a legitimised combat sport at every possible turn.

They're testing the water by holding the event in Wyoming, in my opinion: a legitimate Bare Knuckle fighting card would be met with with some extremely stiff resistance by some of the bigger Athletic Commissions -- the likes of Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey -- that's for sure. I mean, there was plenty of mainstream outcry about the UFC when it premiered in 1993, and it took at least another ten years after that -- at least in the U.S.A and Canada -- for MMA to shed the "Human Cockfighting" stigma and be widely recognised and widely sanctioned as an arena of legitimate sporting contest.

 

I’m definitely going to be buying this with Fite.TV credits lol. Wouldn’t spend any actual money on it but it should be entertaining on a night with not a lot of boxing or MMA.
