Len, you think the sun shines out of Macklin's ****, hate Martin Murray, think Andy Lee is **** etc etc. Your bias is ridiculous.
Locketts been working on a more Persistant jab, Blackwells jab is strong marked Khomitskys face, plus Blackwell has been lazy up close which wont be this time round. Lockett and Blackwell are aware of Ryders left hook, also Ryder can be lazy at times. This will be a good fight , i just think many are underating Blackwell
That WAS an awesome display power-jab alright. (Slight worry was how he struggled with a journeyman a week later though, I was baffled by that - he cant afford slip-ups and complacency from now on) Hope the southpaw wont negate that jab, - its a 'key-to-victory' for Nick IMO.
Conversely lots of people massively overrate Blackwell. Most on here think he wins it seems. I know he has taken fights at short notice, but he's never had a standout performance and Ryder handled BJS far better than Blackwell.
Two cards were close in the Blckwell BJS fight and if anyone hurt BJS in their fight it was Blackwell not Ryder. Blackwell has been badly managed, robbed against Bursak, and if hed had an 8 rounder against Khomitsky as was originally intended he`d have stopped him, where as Buglioni and Etches got drilled. So in hindsight Blackwells stand out fights were being robbed against Bursak who he stuck on his **** and drawing against Khomitsky who went on to beat two other Brits. Other than Saunders who has Ryder fought?
Very true. Godoy? He lost 2 of his previous 4, tcame over from Argentina and took on Ryder at 1 weeks notice and hasnt fought since ....O'Kane maybe? He's dreadful, no good at all and I'm Irish. Really Blackwells 'losing ' record is better than Ryders 'winning 'record' IMO. (Same logic applies to comparing Mackiln to the likes of Barker, Lee etc) Would it really be such a shock if Blackwell beats Ryder?
I fear for Len's mental health once Ryder UD's Blackwell. First Sturm gets his shít pushed in, then Macklin and then to top it all off Andy Lee does what Macklin never could (and will) and not only wins a world title but successfully defends it also... Oh and Murray lasted far longer and put up a much better fight than Macklin did against the one they call Triple G. Blackwell is a good fighter, but he's more or less a domestic level gatekeeper. I think it'll be a good, entertaining fight against Ryder but it's the same story with Blackwell... Puts up a good fight, but is never quite good enough.
What? He's lost to Martin Murray (world title challenger) as an 8 fight novice with no amateur background, gave Billy Joe Saunders a real good fight who's next in line to fight for a world title and was on the end of a **** decision against Bursak which should have gone his way. This will be a close fight, one I think Blackwell will nick but I you can argue a strong case for Ryder as he's a good fighter. Nick Blackwell is one of the most underrated if not, the most underrated fighter in the UK.
It baffles me that this is not recognised. :yikes To go from literally zero to what he has achieved in boxing with minimal support behind him is remarkable. A real-life 'Rocky' story. Also apart from BJS WHO has Ryder fought? Sure Ryder is good but I'm not sure he is all that great. This is not even Blackwells toughest fight. But it WILL be Ryders!
