The first opponent that Joshua couldn't KO. That's why the bodybuilder lost. Went for the attack, and just simply couldn't take what was coming back at him. People talking about the first knock down being significant. But the second one Joshua was in retreat against the ropes. The 3rd one was when Joshua landed a monstrous hook, and got torpedoed with a barrage of punches. And the fourth one was when he landed 2 extremely power jabs, and Ruiz returned with 4 hooks across his head.
Could we get some love for his head movement? He was slipping AJs jab beautifully and ducking under and coming up with hooks making AJ miss or glance his punches and he countered with solid shots. It was impressive.
Big difference between AJ and GGG GGG = granite ATG chin never been dropped or hurt in 400 fights pro and amateur AJ= been down 5 times as a pro and been stopped in amateurs
Ruiz is s bit of a sniper. He can land that counter overhand right directly on the ear, which is a horrible place to get hit flush. He couldn't miss it on AJ.
Joshua came out from the opening bell circling to Ruiz's right with his left hand at his hip. He was asking for it.
How anyone can claim there was nothing wrong with Joshua is just plain lying. The entrance, his actions before the fight and the first few rounds. Did he even throw a punch? He was a sitting duck and Ruiz was the lucky man to be gifted that goose.
