Props to Ruiz. He's the champ and I give him the same respect as a champion that I give to Wilder. I've always said - to be the best, you gotta beat the best. Joshua might've not looked right but whose fault is that? Ruiz can be blamed for Joshua not looking right after the fight but any poor/unlucky preparation by Joshua going into the fight falls solely on Team Joshua. After seeing the fight, I'd say a 100% Joshua IMO isn't a guaranteed winner anyway. Still an AJ fan though but Ruiz is currently better.
I dont think people are searching for hidden reasons as to why AJ lost, I think people are simply responding to multiple odd occurrences surrounding this fight and feeling that something was indeed off.
Ruiz showed he had a good chin and simply caught AJ with some good fast shots when Joshua came in to finish him off. If there is a rematch I expect Joshua to just box from the outside all fight long, similar to Lewis vs Tua. He will have to learn this style though.
Ruiz looked amazingly relaxed in there. From their body language you would've thought that Joshua was the rank outsider and challenger.
And his feet too! He was either out or inside the ideal range for straight punches. Able to close distance quickly. I'm not sure I've seen anyone over 250lbs have that type of quick, efficient foot movement
I think if AJ spends all his time learning a STIFF JAB and how to GRAB and CLINCH - he may be able to get away with a UD win next time.
I think he`s a danger to every heavy because of his hand speed and chin, Wilder`s reach might be too much but that doesn`t mean he won`t duck him hopefully Wilder will fight AJ now that he`ll probably beat him, Al Haymon hold all the cards now.
