All right, fess up.......we all have blind spots with classic boxing knowledge. Which fighters (that have been filmed) have you not watched? By "watch" I mean a full fight?

My own dirty laundry: I have never seen full fights of:

    Miguel Canto
    Jiro Watanabe
    Don Jordan
    Virgil Akins
Tony Canzoneri (which I will remedy in the next couple days)

    Now you.

I hear Harry Greb had a big one ;)

But seriously, nice topic, and I confess, a bit more than just a fighter(s), but an era; I struggle post 2005ish...

I haven't seen much Sánchez (compared to what I want) and I'm hoping to rectify that. Actually, it's in my plans to watch every title defence.

Sandy Saddler is a guy whom I've only seen a little footage of. The available footage of the Pep fights, and what I can make out from the Elorde match. Shame on me. ;)
Canto vs Avelar and Furesawa are some of the most perfect performances I've ever seen. Not to forget the spectacular González 3 fight.

Watanabe is amazing. Absolutely gorgeous skills.

I've seen absolutely zilch of Don and have honestly never heard of him.

Is that the guy who had the war with DeMarco? If it is, you should have fun!

The Avelar fight is what I plan to start with for Canto. Soon, hope. Not sure about Jordan-Demarco, hope so. Demarco was good value.

Have you seen Saddler vs Del Flanagan?
I finally, after 20 years of not getting around to it, watched some Carlos Ortiz. The fight I need to watch is Ortiz and Joe Brown; Brown has been on the list longer than Ortiz.

Nope. Never seen it. Should I?

I'm a big Ortiz guy, but he's another one I'm looking forward to watching.

I was planning on watching Ortiz's fights with Laguna but there were quite a few rounds missing from fight 3, which always puts me off as I wanted to score it. I watched the second fight against Elorde but again, lots of missing rounds.

    Good thread, Sal.

My blind spots tend to be around the lower weight classes. There's loads of bantamweight fights I need to see - genuine classic stuff that I should have seen way before like Olivares-Castillo. Trying to rectify these gaps at the moment.

I like BWs too, but I also need to see more. I've not seen full fights of either Canizales brother for example.

I'd recommend Orlando's title-winning effort against Kelvin Seabrooks. Real good fight, Seabrooks reminds me of a little Saad Muhammad.

For me it's most Flyweights.... It's like I just stop at Bantam.
Also Dick TIger, and Rubin Carter.

Virgil had fights with DeMarco in the 50s. Supposed to fun too.

Mine are mostly pre 1920s and over the last ten years to some degree. I care a lot less about more recent fighters but still know enough to hold my own more often than not where better known fighters are concerned.

Pre 20s I've just been too lazy to put in more than rudimentary research efforts with lots of fighters, especially heavyweights though I fear that the forum's obsession with them and poor, biased level of discourse has permanently put me off. I need to do more work on the likes of Genaro, LaBarba, Herman, Coulon, Kid Williams, Wilde, McGovern and a few others though. Even guys like Ketchel, the Gibbons brothers etc.
