Question for all of you: are your feet calloused from boxing? Mine were though they went soft after about a 4 month lay off, now it's happening again. My big toes and the balls of my feet get blisters that then develop into callouses. They aren't painful really and it it makes sense: I'm constantly pushing off those parts of my feet so naturally the skin toughens up there. Just curious if anyone else gets this or if I'm doing it wrong somehow.
I used to have the same problems. It all went away once I started taping the soles of my feet and other areas that may get a lot of abrasion. My problem was that my shoes were 1/2 size too big. My foot would move around too much and I end up with all sorts of blisters in certain areas. Also, I initially had bruising on the balls of my feet since boxing shoes don't have much padding. But that eventually went away.
I do for my roadwork (obviously) and sometimes if I'm just hitting the heavy bag, but if I'm sparring, jump roping, doing focus mitts, or any sort of footwork drills I'd much rather have my boxing shoes on.
