I was thinking the same thing. . . he's like a smaller, more skilled Gatti.

Waaaaaaaaaaay more skilled. By this rationale Mosley could be considered a B&GW.

I see your point, put isnt SHane in a sense blood and guts as well as being skilled? To me blood and guts means fighting with courage, somenthing both Izzy and Shane have in spades and clowns like Spinks and FMJ cant seem to find.

Yeah. To me, this term connotes anywhere between above-average and world-class chin, combined with world-class A-list heart. Anybody who can and will just stand and trade indefinitely. However, being so closely associated with Gatti, it also has come to mean someone who isn't necessarily very skilled at an elite level and relies on that heart and chin more than anything else. In which case, to varying degrees, Katsidis, Vazquez, and Mosley are all far too good to share the label, despite qualifying in the heart and chin categories.

well said, I can agree with that. Librado Andrade would be a good candidate then.

    :think

To be a blood & guts warrior, you have to battle through some rough (and bloody) moments in the ring. Wich cannot be confused with "crushing an opponent" in any way...

Ward was more of a blood and guts fighter than GAtti any day. But Duddy or Cotto are the new warriors.

    Cotto, for example.

Juan Diaz maybe? I haven't watched enough of him.

    Vasquez is another good pick.
