Whatever. Zuffa dragged this sport out of the dark ages and brought the sport to the prominence it now enjoys. Even in Pride there were plenty of boring ass fights. One thing you guys drooling over the golden age of Pride seem to forget is that the company went out of business. If it weren't for the UFC there wouldn't be MMA as we know it today.

Sometimes a fight is good on paper but it just doesn't play out in the ring. Who cares if Brock Lesnar was hyped or not? Fighters get hyped by the public and the promotion gets behind them but they have to keep winning to keep that train going. At least Lesnar has faced a line of legit challengers over his short career as opposed to the row of dead men Fedor faced until they accidentally put him in with Werdum thinking he was finished as well.

So because Zuffa did alot to bring the sport out of the dark ages we should unquestionabley accept everything they do?

Zuffa like all promoters look after themselves first, sometimes that benefits the sport and sometimes it doesnt, in recent years the latter has become more common for me.

I'm devestated you have me on ignore, I do so miss the quality of debate you bring to these forums.

Ive alway begrudgingly admire Lane's passion, just wish he'd drop the bull**** attitude. He'd be taken much more seriously

 

Seriously. Fedor's competition since he fought Crocop has been second and third tier at best. Just look at his record. Werdum was the first real challenge he's had since 2005. I don't look at that as a knock on Fedor - but on his sorry ass management for keeping him out of situations where he could fight legit contenders.

 

I get tired of people with agendas and axes to grind. I want to discuss MMA with people - not read their endless diatribes against Zuffa, Dana White or the UFC.

I am a fan of MMA. I don't care if it's Vale Tudo, Pride, DREAM, UFC, King of the Cage or the one off World Combat Championship. I want to talk about the sport I enjoy not some nonsense about the big bad evil corporation that is the UFC.

 

In reality what you get tired of is people who question some very suspect arguements you've been making here recently that seem to have a good deal of an agenda behind them.

Seriously someone who thinks Mirko is currently at his peak really isnt in a position to throw stones at the bias of others.
