A friend told me that blowing a nose during a fight (between rounds) will open up your pores and will most likely make your eyes sweel up. He said this was the case in a oscar de la hoya match too and george foreman who was commentating said that thats the worst thing you can do. IS this true or just a load of bollocks?

If you get hit in the nose then blow your nose it's like you've got a cut somewhere and you rub it hard.

When you blow your nose, if there is an obstruction (blood, swelling of tissue etc.) then the air pressure will back up into the sinus and greatly increase the swelling of tissue around the eyes.
