I've kept quiet on this until now (you'll see why), but it looks like I am set to make £250 on a bet. In December 2007, I placed a bet at William Hill on a £1 stake that David Haye and Audley Harrison would fight for a world heavyweight title. I am currently in the process of moving to a new flat and found a box of all my "long term" betting slips I kept at Uni...they are all dead (with the exception of Mourinho next Man Utd manager at 35/1) and I found this bet. I had completely forgotten about the bet and now, despite having said that in several posts I would hate to see this fight, I would now very much like to see this fight. Result. Any other sensational betting results lately for you lads?
Couldn't possibly make such a long term bet like that. I got Dirrell at 25/1 at ladbrokes to win the super 6. Currently 8s. Put £20 to win £500. Dirrell stops Ward in the 4th and he will walk the final.
Not anywhere near 25s lol. Massive overreaction after the Froch robbery got it the day after and a few days later went to 20s. I would say aroud 7 or 8s.
http://www.oddschecker.com/boxing 8s All he has to do is beat Ward who he has every pysical advantage over.
That is the biggest risk imo. Dirrell a lot better footwork is a lot more effective switch hitter. Ward only switches up close when he puts his head on his opponents and switches whens hes trapped in the ropes. Dirrell hits a lot harder and is a lot quicker. Not to mention very slick defence. Wards only chance is to get a cut early on with the headbuts and force a tko.
