While he was equally roided? You can't have it both ways, cupcake. Settle down.

On topic: I can't see the tw33t (by design) but if so, good for Bob. It was the right thing to do and if to save Manny's health, for the right reasons.

Gimme a damn break. Arum was afraid PAC might beat Crawford n derail his next star just before leaving top rank. Simple as that.

There is FAR MORE circumstantial evidence of JMM roiding than there is Pac. One thing's for sure — Pac has hurt every single opponent he's fought while being VADA-tested. For the Broner fight, a VADA-tested Pac put Broner in SURVIVAL MODE after some left hands. Broner never ran from Mikey nor did he run from Maidana. Based on this, I lean towards being clean throughout his career.

Ever since Pacquiao being vada tested? He only has 1 stoppage while the rest were by decision interesting. Before he took the test? He tko or ko fighters or destroy the opponents before a decision win like the one over margarito. Dude seriously stop.

Of course it makes sense. They fought when BOTH were closer to their primes. NOW...Manny is past prime.

I really despise Arum on the Pac-Horn fight.

Pac was set-up. Arum thinks that time Horn is the "Next thing in boxing".

Glad that Manny did not fall for this.

Seems weird Bob would make sure Pac got jobbed to push Bradley, but wouldn't cash him out to Bud to pass the torch to Crawford.

It was a good interview, but I find that a little odd. It's not like he was known for ever prioritizing protecting Pac over maxing out his own pocket book.

I think this is what really happened.

There was a time when Crawford's name was getting serious buzz as one of Pacquiao's possibles......this was way before Bud's welter debut. But Bob's matchmakers knew Pac still had a more than good chance to derail the torch-passing script, so they waited and waited. When Bob's matchmakers considered the risk was already manageable and Pacman was "ripe" it was then Freddie who felt Bud was too much of a risk at that point in Manny's career....so Arum concocted the Great Australian Robbery :stirrpot

Then all hell broke loose. Manny severed ties with Freddie and Bob, putting Top Rank's "succession planning" into total disarray :risas3:

At least Bob Arum was able to re-sign Bud Crawford, who for all intents and purposes renewed his contract knowing he will only fight welterweights outside the top 5, who are all under the PBC banner. So much for wanting to prove himself against the very best, Khan being the "best" among his opponents in his very own words speaks to the quality of his resume so far. Bud may be passing the "eye test" with flying colors, but so far he has been displaying his abilities against middling opposition. In this regard I think his pound-for-pound rating is premature.

As for Bob, he really needs to make statements like the thread title to deflect attention from Bud's miserable outlook for the foreseeable future.

Its believable because it fits a narrative you want to believe. This is nothing but Arum taking a shot at Manny who left him and is now with a rival promotor. Sour grapes. Arum didn't give a sht about Mannys health just the wealth he was making off of him.

It's believable because I've watched both fighters fight and I'm familiar with their styles. Bob Arum has sour
grapes over everyone that drops him, of course he has them over Manny. And no one in their right mind
thinks he cares about Manny's health. He's an ******* but he's no idiot, Manny is a big money maker and Crawford stylistically, especially at this stage would just be one more nail in the coffin of Manny's campaign. Unlike the "loss" against Horn (let's be honest Pac won), Crawford would likely dominate him. There would be no controversy that Pac really won so he should continue his career. So whether it fits my "narrative" or not is irrelevant, quite a few other pundits (including Pac's own trainer) felt the same way.

This is the thing I can’t understand, Bud has a nasty streak and why some people can’t see this baffles me. A 40 year old Pac-Man takes a beating.

People seem to have pac down as some glass jawed, fragile dweeb these days. Fair enough Crawford might beat him but I haven’t seen anything from Crawford to suggest that he completely f*cks pac up with ease like a lot of folk are suggesting. Definitely a bad style match up for Pacquaio, but Pac also has attributes that Crawford hasn’t seen anything close to before. It’s far from a foregone conclusion.

I’m not as clued up as a lot of posters on here but I really don’t see where the massive hype with Crawford has come from. He’s a brilliant boxer no doubt, but I can’t help but feel he’s being highly over rated given his resume isn’t exactly jaw dropping.
