I think the main reason they turned down Marquez is that Manny has not really improved all that much and that his success is mainly due to beating weight drained opposition.

You don't think it had anything to do with the Mosley fight being easier to make and whilst being equally or more lucrative (without having to deal with GBP)?

Or with Marquez and his unrealistic purse demands (asking for up to 3 times as much as what he got for Mayweather, which would equate to $10 million if the fight does 1.5M buys)?

You know Shane got 7 million garaunteed for his fight with Floyd and estimated about $12 million all up after the PPV.

Yet Mosley settled for 5 garaunteed against Pac and stands to make an estimated 3 million in the PPV if it does well (1-1.5M buys) if reports are correct.

There was only one guy who showed he really wanted the fight and was willing to make sacrifices to get it and that was Mosley. While Marquez just crazily outpriced himself. That is why Mosley got it.

 

Clottey and Margo got about 4+ mil and did they deserve it ..?????

Ha! And you think Arum cares if its competitive or not? All he cares about is his pocket. But IMO and as many others, Marquez/Pac won't be competive unless done atleast at 140 or better yet at 135lbs. Not defending the Mosley/Pac as I think its BS but come on Marquez at 147lbs? Really?

As much as I like Marquez, he does make some ridiculous demands when it comes to Pac. Last time round, I think it was after his second fight with Diaz, he wanted a 50/50 split and random drug testing .

 

mosley is coming off of a loss and a draw! Does he deserve the payday ? he froze up and **** himself against Floyd. Juan Manuel threw combinations from bell to bell. Sure he lost to Floyd,but he never quit trying all night. Shane did! If pac would blow Marquez away like they say,why not make the fight ? Because Juan Manuel will give thier boy hell on any given night. Juan manuel wanted the Lion's share for a scond pac fight because he was still the champion and his pride over rode good judgemant. Why does'nt manny fight someone credibke ? Because he could fight a drunk on a strretcorner and the public would buy it !
