Can you guys believe it. We all knew that it was a huge possibility that Cotto would fight margarito if he wins. But I didnt know that Arum would have Cotto fight the winner no matter who wins. I just read an article on boxing talk by G Leon. It quotes Arum saying that the contract is already signed for Cotto to fight the winner. Not only that, but then Clottey would then get a shot at the winner of Cotto vs Marg/Kermit.

I'm assuming that Arum only means that Clottey would get a shot at Cotto if he wins though. Because we all know that if Cotto lost to Marg/Kermit, there would be an immediate rematch.

But let's keep our fingers crossed, b/c this is only happening if Cotto beat Gomez as he should.

Cotto beats Gomez and then Margarito then he has the best resume at WW by a distance.

**** Clottey, Cotto Vs the Margo/Cintron winner is a more meaningful fight, let Clottey fight the winner.

Actually, i may have mis read or misinterpreted the article. Here is the clip of the article that mentions CLottey.

""One step at a time. Assuming all of this happens and Cotto fights the winner of Margarito-Cintron. Clottey would fight in a vacant title fight for the IBF title against whomever. And if Clottey won that fight, he'd be in line to fight the winner of Cotto-Cintron/Margarito. That's my plan to keep this thing going""

You're a fool to think that Cotto is going to beat both of those guys ... and you're also a fool to think that a win over Gomez holds much weight. There's alot of risk and zero reward for fighting Gomez. I think he's going to one of those guys if not both. I think that sylistically Cotto doesn't match up well with Margarito ... and I think that he's overlooking Gomez.

    So most likely...

    1. Cotto/Gomez winner vs Margarito/Cintron winner

    2. Clottey vs Margarito/Cintron loser

    1. winner vs 2. winner

see this is why i dont understand people slagging of flyd for not fighting cotto. Its clear to me that Cotto and Arum are not pushing for the fight the way Hatton did.

Clottey can fight the loser out of the Cotto/Gomez vs Margarito/Cintron fight.

Arum hasn't given him a meaningful fight in over a year.

Mayweather already has his mind made up. He is fighting DLH at the end of the year. Cotto isnt going to waste a year for Mayweather. He is going to continue with his career cleaning out the 147 division.
