Arum is the real shill behind this whole fiasco, I believe he is the one that is dictating when this fight will happen and is trying to make it look as if Floyd is bitching out in hopes that it lights a fire for him to agree to terms he doesn't want/ shouldn't have to. When Floyd's team said there were no negotiations I was surprised, and a little curious as to how there could be so much publicity for something that really had never taken place. I believe what Bob Arum and the Manny camp did was send over a contract saying this is what we are agreeing to, this is only what we will agree to, you have X number of weeks to think about it. It was a take it or leave it type scenario. Floyd didn't even bother to respond, I mean why the hell should he play Arum's game? So in the mean time Arum can say we've agreed to all points, he never specified "we", that could mean him and Manny for all we know. Then he says were just waiting for Floyd's signature, because theoretically they are, but Bob knows Floyd isn't gonna deal that way, so now it sounds like Floyd is the one holding this thing up. When really they didn't discuss or negotiate any fight, they slapped a piece of paper down saying "sign it" knowing Floyd wouldn't do it unless he felt NOT doing it would really have people thinking he was ducking a fight. On a side note, Arum knew Floyd wouldn't do it and that why there was already contracts up with Cotto and Margarito, which I doubt now if he even had one with Miguel. Arum had planned an "in house" fight with Margarito from the beginning, he just played the Floyd angle to A) Strong arm Floyd, B) Keep the public with Manny and against Floyd C) Somehow try to work Margarito into the mix again and finally D) Line his dirty little pockets without having to mix in another promotional group.
