Martinez is 35, Cotto is 29. Cotto's been in some wars, but he should fight on at the top level a few more years than Martinez.

Plenty of potential matchups to keep him interested in the sport:
    Cotto vs Margo/Mosley/Pac/Martinez/P.Williams/Angulo/Alvarez/JCC Jr/Cintron/Berto

Yea Cotto will stay a while in the sport, But hes a B+ fighter IMO, meaning more opponents because he doesnt dominate. Plus he has Bob Arum. :yep

I think it was when everyone wanted Gamboa/Lopez and he was talking about how he wanted to build it up to be the biggest megafeatherweight battle ever and they were like "But the fans want the fight badly, already." and he was like...well, you know. Then I was like  and Bob was like  and casual fans were like :conf...is the way I remember it.

I agree that HBO should have showed cotto a little more resepect. But arum's acts like a little kid. He better hope the pac fight pulls some good number, or he gonna crowl back to HBO with his tail between his legs.

gamboa/lopez will not do good. most fans forgot about Gamboa. Not even sure when the last time Ive seen him fight. Gamboa should fight under pacquao or cotto undercard.

I agree, it should be an undercard fight.

On this whole HBO situation, I saw this as a very riskymove by Arum, it seems like he needs HBO very bad, especially for hyping up a ridiculous fight as this, but maybe showtime will pull out good coverage eventhough i dont think it is possible for a fight like this.

Also, this puts another obstacle for the mayweather pacquiao negotiations, because now HBO and Showtime will have to negotiate to PPV the fight just as they did for tyson and lewis.
Is Arum single handingly ruining boxing? Seems like it

Bob, you should appreciate the money you have earned with HBO. Hearns,Hagler,Leonard,Duran and Benitez in the 1980's all fought on HBO and earned you good money.

is Mayweather locked into a contract with HBO? Isn't he a free agent? If he is and is serious about teaming up with Don King, the fight would actually be easier to make, as King has also had major gripes with HBO in the past and taken his fights to Showtime.

arum allows personal vendettas to rule his decisions, and to rule the sport in turn. we could have had so many great fights by now- probably two mayweather pacquiao fights- but arums stubborness and greed have held the sport hostage. he has openly said he dosent care about fans or the sport itself , only what makes him money, he s openly said h dosent like to feature non top rank guys cos he dosent want to give htem money that could be going into his pocket. greedy greedy man. the sport will hopefully thrive when he dies- though then it ll proably go to another jewish money ***** like his son debouf or some other ****er.
