They hate Abel for telling the truth about GGG, let's see if they start hating Arum now? WAIT! They already hate him for promoting Pacquaio.
Brief Evaluation of Lomachenko's Performance There remains a few doubters and I understand it tbh. Lomachenko has GOAT level talent but in the ring, to some, hasn't given off that great sense of invincibility yet that the likes of a Jofre, PBF, Hagler, SRR, Duran etc. had. We still have questions over how he'll perform against elite stylistic threats and I do have a few questions myself when he's very tentatively trying to figure his opponent out in the first couple of rounds. For example, vs Gamalier Rodriguez who he went on to dominate, I thought the first few rounds were so close because of how little Vasyl was doing as a result of seeking to figure out his opponent. Watch it yourself. The first few rounds for the Walters fight was won by Lomachenko but it was actually close. Also, here's another thing. We are amazed at his defense, and sometimes when he's not prioritising offence, he looks like a defensive fighter. When he's against an elite stylistic threat, is he going to start getting too defensive? How often is he going to reset at any hint of attack, because I saw a lot of that vs Gary Russell, Salido and somewhat with Walters until he figured Walters out. This made the fights more competitive than it needed to be. He has been getting better at this clearly and one of the reasons why it took him around 4-5 rounds to completely figure Walters out is that Walters was fighting a bit like how Agbeko fought Rigo...not even imposing anything - so there was less information for Lomachenko to compute and figure out in the first few rounds - this is why we saw Lomachenko use his footwork to create a lot of angles but not throw anything at times; Lomachenko was fishing for intel. I also think Lomachenko kept distance because Walters likes to throw uppercuts on the inside. It got worse for Walters because Loma was able to steal rounds on cruise control as he would just take every punch away from Walters, whilst not having to land any more than a couple of good attacks each round. Martinez was figured out quickly because he made it clear on how he wanted to fight. The more you do, the quicker he'll figure you out, otherwise he's completely ok taking his time to figure you out COMPLETELY not just partially. Watching it back, now knowing that he quit, I'm still quite impressed with Walters and how he dealt with Lomachenko as long as he did. It annoyed me a bit when Max and Jim were almost down comparing Pep and Whitaker to Lomachenko. They're both TBE level fighters and Lomachenko isn't even established yet lol.
Orlando Salido says "hi." Arum used to lay heavy praise on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, too. Oscar said Canelo was equal or better than he ever was. Emanuel Steward once called Linares the best fighter he had ever seen. Nobody cares. It means nothing.
