I agree and disagree with some of the others. I don't think Margarito is a bad name to have on his resume, but I do believe he'd end up like everyone else. He is essentially that slow, plodding, and predictable fighter. A prime Floyd would box circles around him.

At the end of the day, you're not a boxing fan.

You didn't want the Margarito fight and you don't want the Pacquaio fight.

You clearly don't understand boxing if you don't think Margarito would be a stylistic nightmare for Floyd.

Even Maidana, a more hesitant, slower, less aggressive version of Margarito put Floyd through hell in the first fight.

And Maidana doesn't have an uppercut nor the size advantage as does Margarito.

Margarito would have punished Floyd for at least 6 rounds.

 

Also, people mention Shane beating Margarito. Shane landed one flush shot on Floyd and Floyd almost got knocked out.

Margarito came forward as Mosley landed his power, emphasizing the effectiveness of his shots, and it took 9 rounds of punishment to stop him.

Mayweather doesn't throw combinations and his punches would not hurt Tony.

Tony would catch Floyd against the ropes with uppercuts and slowly break him down and probably stop him.

Mayweather would take a beating of a lifetime to beat Margarito.
