Right...it's so irrelevant that Arum is using this as part of his justification for cherry picking a 40 year old, and visibly diminished, ex champion, who has looked like absolute **** in his last two fights. Really...Arum would have been better off calling up Carl Weathers to play the part of "Apollo Creed", for what appears to be Top Rank's remake of "Rocky".

......rather than take 750k which would have been the same as Manny, JMM went to Indonesia for 35 thousand out of principle.

JMM took the fight for 3.2 mil from Floyd and now wants 5mil from Pac + PPV share. If you can't see this as not pricing yourself out, the I don't know what to say.

I'm going to lol if this ppv does clottey numbers or less. If that becomes the case, the Floyd fight is dead.

i don't know if the $5M was a really serious offer or just GBP's schaffer trying to rile-up arum. they knew that marquez would be more appropriate at 135 than fighting at 147 so they needed to cash jmm out for the pac fight. if they were really serious in the first place, they should have let khan fight jmm instead before challenging guys at welter.

To be fair, Marquez wasn't asking for $5 million. He was asking for $3.2 million, same as for Floyd. But the GBP fee for giving Top Rank exclusive promotion rights for this fight was $1.8 million. That made the total $5 million.

The problem is if you're going to bid against a Top Rank fighter for a Top Rank card, you're always going to bid from a losing position because you'll never be able to outbid $0.00, which is Top Rank's outlay of cash for rights to an in-house fighter. That means just to match the bid, you'll have to drop your fighter's asking price by your promoter's cut. Arum would never take less money just to make the fans happy.

In other words, every non-Top Rank fighter was doomed from the start.

Lol...according to ESB....most of the posters all say "slick african amercian fighter" rarely just "slick boxer"....but now Mosley has come into the the equation with Pacquiao....people are saying (*****s etc) just slick boxers instead of the whole "slick african amercian boxers".

But i aint happy with this fight to be honest....im a Mosley fan and Pacquiao fan....i dont want to see Mosley go out on a TKO loss...but this fight could pan out to be a really good fight....both guys like to fight....i expect fireworks for however long it lasts....it'll be fun for the casual fans....not for the hardcore boxing fans though....

Is it really a surprise to anyone that Arum prefers a TR fighter? Had JMM been the TR fighter, he would have gotten the fight now. Besides, why is everyone rooting for JMM now? I prefer to root for Berto as the next Pac opponent since he is the youngest of them all.

most would prefer berto. mosley would even offer more tougher fight at 147 than jmm and even berto. but the problem with berto is he is not a proven draw and has some criticism of its own like a weak resume and still a green fighter. i am seeing that after pac disposes of him that it would also be disregarded just like when pac beast clottey who was almost the same ranked with berto now when pac fought him.

$5M plus PPVs ..but not exactly like JMM's because Marquez's demand was plus $5 per PPV buy...and with a possible total buys of $1.2M , JMM would be getting something like $8m from those, so that's around total $13M pay for JMM..Mosely will have his share of PPV buys but im sure it wont be lesser than $5. But just like what i said before, JMM's arrogance and disrespect played a big part of not getting this fight. Manny wont allow Marquez to get his retirement pay thru him.

..... some of the people criticizing Pac for fighting Mosley now would also be criticizing him if he would have chosen Berto or JMM.

They're just doing it out of spite.....so obvious.
