of course they would not say it immediately. they would say that the may 5th date was moved two weeks later and floyd would still keep his jail time in june as it is. but if he sustained some damage, his lawyer can ask for a couple more weeks or months of defermnent for recuperating.

arum has let the fans see a big fight two times already in a big stadium. and it's not like it's the first time that arum has mentioned this. he initially wants floyd-pac to be in dallas satdium which can fill as much as 100k+ if it was a floyd-pac fight.

Why would it take 3 more weeks to build a stadium. Like the cut it's 6 months from now.
I'm a pac fan, but this **** is sad.

that's why i said, if floyd and scahefer really wants the pac fight, why not call arum's bluff and move the fight just 2 weeks later?

but it seems scahefer has other plans for floyd.

What was the two big fights? Cotto v Margarito II was one, what was the other big fight?

"We're fighting in June, one of the four guys," Arum told me over the phone.

I asked him, now that Mayweather was available, would he at least be part of the conversation when Arum meets with Pacquiao next week?

A perturbed Arum's response was, "Absolutely not. Nope."

Come again? You won't even talk about it with Pacquiao, I asked very politely.

"My mission is to go over to the Philippines and talk about these four guys," Arum said. "If Manny feels he wants to go in May, he will tell me. I want to make sure Manny's cuts are healed. We won't fall under this kind of pressure. June is much more likely for Manny's fight, not May."

So May was a real possibility yesterday, but now there's no way?

"What if they fought and Manny started bleeding on the first punch?" a clearly flustered Arum asked. "I don't know if Manny is available to fight in May. I have no idea. I haven't talked to him, I haven't seen him. Seems to me, June is more likely based on what his plastic surgeon said.

If Pac can't stand up for himself... then you can add him to the duck list too.

i think it's more like arum saying to schaefer that they don't want may 5th. but is open to a few weeks later. if this would make the fight then why not? unless may 5th is sort of a fixed date that even a negotiation can't move it.

but i agree with the premise that let the fans see this fight in a bigger stage where more fans can see it.

Personally I think they need to build a permanent 40,000 seat stadium in Vegas just specifically for potential megafights such as this. In regards to Floyd, if Bob is genuine and he's open to a Floyd/Pac fight in late May than he should't be fixated on a May 5th date. I'm not that familiar with his plea deal but what I get from it is that he's got till june to make a megafight...not necessarily at a specific date. So there should be no excuse on the Mayweather side. Correct me if I'm wrong *****s, is he contractually obligated to fight in May 5th?

well we should wait for pac's side then. i really think that they should get the floyd fight for at least before the end of may. all the other fights are not as appetizing for pac and are all lose-lose situations for him.
