Calculated move by Arum, to try to flush Mayweather out.

This is how it goes. :hat

:-( What planet do you live on??? How in the hell is this a calculated move by Arum?? Do you even want to see the fight??? You keep on avoiding the real issue here, why is Arum constantly lying and why is he trying to stop one of the biggest fights from happening??

Jesus, you guys are so pathetic at times!

You have to learn to think strategically.

These guys are playing chess. Looking at moves, counter-moves. It's more complicated than you think.

Chess is too sophisticated an analogy for meaningless boxing PR battles, especially for how often these guys manage to make themselves look bad for no reason whatsoever. Even checkers would be generous; tic-tac-toe seems far more apt.

    :lol::lol:

    Well said. :good

The PR battles aren't too complicated, it's just that most people don't know that they are going on (that is, that much of the talk is just posturing).

People who are fans of boxing also tend to like, or dislike, certain fighters. That is, you can be a fan of the sport and also want to see a certain fighter win, or not win, a particular showdown. Whether or not that showdown takes place in the ring or in the PR arena.

I have never thought this fight would happen, and have always said this.

:patsch Way to avoid my initial question...so I'll ask you again, if this was a chess move, why not say that in your opening post when you created this pointless thread?? You're not about to pull this bull**** with me!

And the reason I've said you're not a fan of the sport is how you always defend Arum for blocking the biggest fought of our generation.

Staying with the chess analogy -- it was a gambit by Arum. Sometimes you make the move and you're right. Sometimes you're wrong.

Either way, you want to flush out your opponent. You want to make them commit to a certain outcome. So, Arum has gotten Team Mayweather to make it seem like Cotto could be the guy. That is different than what Schaefer said just a few days ago. That's progress, for Arum.

Arum is Pac's promoter. His job is to make Pac money and look out for Pac's best interests. He's doing his job. His job isn't to please me or anyone else. Just like it's not Mayweather's job to do that.

Their job is to make people buy fights, and take care of themselves/their fighters.

Ok let me try, so if it was a "chess move" why did you post it as a fact, then proceed to argue it as fact, up until it's clearly shown to be complete bull**** as many posters told you it was?

It was a fact: Arum said exactly what I posted. That is a fact.

Rudyard: I'm sorry I'm not making sense. I'll try to explain it better some time.

Right but you proceeded to argue it to the death...if you knew it was a "chess move" then why would you do that?
