Arum knows Fraud is too much of a coward to get in the ring with Cotto or Margarito, so why not have these to exciting fighters face each other. Probablyu be better that wathcing one of them chase Mayrunner for 12 rounds anyway.
When has team Mayweather expressed any official desire/interest in the fight? THEY HAVENT!!! So what is the suprise about Cotto fighting others? Whats he supposed to do wait a year for Floyd? The fact that PBF said he wanted a year off but looks to be close to making another DLH fight? Speaks VOLUMES:good
Theres no proof to DLH-Mayweather even happening. The only thing we've heard is the GBP CEO saying DLH wants Cotto or Mayweather. Thats all we know.
TRUE, though its the rumor rage. Yet ALSO TRUE is the fact that Team mayweather has made no attempts at Cotto. Going by the last thing Floyd said he wants a year off. So, you cant fault cotto for making his next fight.:good
Yes but why wouldn't they even mention they would like to get Floyd out of his break or even say something. Arum has no plans to face Floyd till possibly next year.
Its Fraud who's "retired". What the hell is Cotto supposed to do? Get on his knees and beg the way Fraud begged DLH? :nono
To my recollection Arum has said before now that they wanted PBf and Cotto himself has said he would like the fight. Again Team mayweather has said A YEAR OFF, so that quite simply doesnt give any hope or likelyhood. Therefore they will pursue whatever's most profitable next.
The way I see it. Arum says these things but in reality won't put his biggest star that he has left in with Floyd yet, he is going to market it as best he can. Floyd-Cotto would do 800-900 buys in the USA probably right now. If Arum markets Cotto right (not Gomez and the shitty Margo) Cotto-Floyd would be HUGE. I seriously think thats whats going on, I just dont like the speculation that Floyd or Cotto is afraid of each other. I think Cotto wants the fight, Arum doesn't yet, and both Floyd and Arum will make it at it's highest possible point of value.
He said he's retired? I know he said that after the Baldomir fight but came out of retirement. He hasn't said it since.
He clearly suggested it when asked specifically about Cotto. . . .some jibberish about not having anything to prove or noyt letting boxing retire him blah blah blah . . . it translated to "I dont want to fight Cotto"
