well you guys could be right but I'm hoping you aren't. Arum threw Cotto to the wolves against the Pacman and he also pitted Margo up against a prime undefeated cash cow Cotto and then Clottey to. I think Arum's MO is that he is willing to make his fighters take risks, especially against other in-house fighters.

He also put Pac in with Marquez in the rematch who was a GBP fighter and considered Pac's biggest threat at the time

I think the list goes on. I don't know about Arum having a history of overprotecting his fighters. I know he has a history of keeping things in-house though even though he'll step outside from time to time, like he did with Pavlik vs Miranda and Taylor.

I like Arum for this reason. He always tries to make all his fighters as much money as possible

Gamboa beats all them dudes at this point. His last fight he was reserved and focused every second. He usually gets tempermental in there.... I mean he looked like a machine. I dont think nobody in the ring with him that night at feather would go the whole 12.

Cotto-like defense.. chin a little shakey.. far slower than Gamboa.. Gamboa would be first every time. He would just kick his ass basically. You need a jab to stop speed and Lopez is not a jabber.

Agreed he is being protected and I don't blame Arum for doing this. I only seen JuanMa fight twice now and I think he needs to fight more disciplined and use his boxing skills more/hes not that big of a puncher and his defense is pretty leaky. Gamboa is better in every way and will make a fight vs JuanMa look easy.

yep, lets not forget Rigo is coming behind and at 29 he'll be moving up to FW as soon as he gets established at 122.
i dont want to see gamboa- rigo..i believed they fought in Cuba twice, and Rigo took both fights,is that right?

Hopefully Arum drops dead of a massive heart attack before the fight takes place.

I understand the logic of not having them fight right now but no need to tell fans to go **** themselves.

Arum is just an old ****. The logic makes sense, but as others point out, it's not like he wasn't singing a different tune before Gamboa began to fix some of his defensive leaks. It's pretty obvious that he's worried the Cuban will prematurely end Lopez's earning power.
