1.25 vs Ortiz, 1.5 vs Cotto, 1.4 vs Mosley, 900/925 with Maidana 1/2.

    550 with Berto

I share the same sentiment as others have expressed towards PPV. I thought the fight would do around 350k buys. The core PPV audience is a pretty hardcore sect, and they are starting to tire of the current formula because they know what they are looking at. They know that Pacquaio v Algerie and Mayweather v Berto are bs fights not worthy of PPV money. Most would agree that much to our dismay, true competition is rare in PPV fights these days. Mismatches while one promoter develops an audience for their golden child is the norm these days. Big guys calling out smaller guys, catch weight fights etc... Add to that formula a PPV that jumps from 50$ then to 70$ and now 100$ in about a decade for so called super fights and it just doesn't make sense to a lot of true fight fans. My wage sure as hell hasn't doubled in the last decade! For most of us a hundred bucks is still a bit of money and we have high expectations. I don't want to see a fighter taking selfies with a celebrity just before walking into the fight of the millennium.

    End rant.

Yes...I agree. Mr. Mystical Salt Water's numbers are likely inflated. Probably closer to GGG v Lemieux numbers than Mayweather v Berto numbers.

why do you care? you won't get a cent from it. If numbers are low it means boxing losing popularity.. yet another proof that you are true boxing fan
