Bute doesn't have much more rounds in the last 18 months! In his last 15 months he got only 11 rounds in 3 fights!

i know i know but consider the circumstances. very serious staph, two surguries, fighting to make a weight that, as it seems, was tough to make, ESPINO, and then a clock cleaning while losing your titles. now the next stop is the best smw in the world (imo). that's a tall order.

Let's see it happen first before we begin talking about balls.

I'll be honest. It wouldn't surprise me if Pavlik did go straight to Bute or some other high profile fight. Why take the summer off and rest for a tune up fight at this stage in his career?

Somebody like Bika or Andrade is not tune up fight at 168.

I've always said that if I were a manager or promoter, I would not let Bika anywhere near a fighter of mine because he is such a dirty ******* that anything might happen. However, given the present situation at 168 Pavlik/Bika might be a good idea; especially if KP could knock him out.

Didn't Kelly destroy Miranda as quickly as Bute? Bute's biggest win is a KO over Andrade. It's funny how many fighters get catapulted to great status from a few good wins in these forums. This is a fight between two fighters of equal caliber. I'm rooting for Kelly though, but would not be surprised if Bute wins.

Kelly hit Miranda about 100 times square in the face, Lucian did it with one shot.

Kelly and Lucian fought two completely different fighters, but that's really not all that relevant. The relevant factor is that we haven't seen Pavlik's "A Game" for so long that we don't even know if he still has an "A Game."

Pavlik definitely has more of a shot against Bute than Williams
He showed no confidence at all in the Martinez fight, so going in against somebody who would thoroughly outwork him again would not be a good move
Saying that, I've still got Bute beating him up.

Its easy to get caught up in hype. Butes resume isnt that great at this time, not that Pavliks is amazing, but I would say its slightly better.
I would strongly favour Bute to beat Pavlik at this time, but if Pavlik was heavily weight drained, he might well turn out alot better with the extra weight. Pavliks chin seems sound and when on form does seem willing to throw punches. Remember Bute seemed lucky not to be stopped against Andrade when they first fought and id say Pavlik is better than Andrade, so Pavlik may make it interesting. But still would guess Bute.

When Pavlik starts to get outboxed he gives up, which is evident in the Martinez and Hopkins fight. Bute will absolutely outbox him and make him look stupid.

These two definitely have momentum going in opposite directions and I would definitely watch it.
