Jack Loew: "He's staying at middleweight, bottom-line, he is a legitimate middleweight, no more super-middle, we will go back to middle, and we are staying there."
Given the circumstances of last year (the Mora incident), Arum is in a tough position (oh poor thing). Team Pavlik IMO will once more demand a money fight without realizing that Kelly's stock dropped signficantly. Will he fight Andrade or Bika, two dangerous fighters for about 500k? I don't think HBO would offer more than 800k-1M for the entire card with the opponent's and undercard's salary plus the usual expanses and that figure might not attract Kelly at all. Once Arum looks around at 168 he'll have to realize the only money offer out there is the fight already offered by HBO: Bute-Pavlik. The next big thing is at 175.
well, if bute is going to be there for a little while they should take the 500k and consider it a good investment in kelly's uncertain but still salvagable future. he took that much to fight espino. bika and andrade are very game fighters who would test kelly and give him some very quality rounds. a win against either one isnt a foregone conclusion but i feel kelly beats both of them convincingly given that their respective styles are not the type that have historically given him fits.
In one area I agree with Ray Mancinni: "Kelly hasn't been a middleweight since he was 16 years old." That's a bit of hyperbole on Ray's part, but in essence I think he's right. KP kept his weight at a false low for so long that his body finally said, "**** you Kelly! We ain't playin' this no more!" If he takes the summer off, stays in decent shape, and maintains a halfway healthy diet, his body should settle into a normal/healthy walking around weight. I will not be surprised if a healthy walking around weight turns out to be well over 190 pounds. I've tried to point this out before, but no one really picked up on it. Check out Pavlik in this video. He weighed about 180 when this was shot. - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIt5YxQ6GOI[/ame]
If Pavlik isn't willing to take a severe pay cut, then he's finished anyway. He can't have the presumptious mentality that he seems to have acquired in the last year or two. He needs to get back into the state of mind he was pre-Miranda: disciplined and determined, wanting to prove himself rather than fighting for fame and money. If he fights like that he'll never make another dent at world level. I do think he has a shot at Bute if he gets himself back in the right mental/physical condition.
If this happens, then Kelly and his team don't consider him shot or second rate. Not too hard to understand. People complained about his choices not being good enough, now they complain about them being too good? Please folks.....

atsch What you really pointed out when you discussed Kelly entering camp at 180 is that Marvailla's getting KTFO easily because Pavlik will be so much bigger and so much stronger, that You also said And you closed your pre-fight comments opening the following thread: "Less Than 24 Hours Before Sergio Martinez Leaves The Ring On a Stretcher" http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=216451
I posted that video a few times after the fight. So, you're entire post is moronic, and has no relevance to the subject at hand. I got one wrong. So ****ing what. You ain't exactly battin' a thousand over the last couple years pal.
That's a misquote! Jack was referring to jumping from weight class to weight class. He said that once he moves up, he will stay at that weight.
You got one wrong??? You made 2000 arrongant posts on the fight and didn't even man up to apologize properly for underestimating Martinez and congraulate the deserving winner without excuses. Oh, sorry, I just found this beauty: It seems your cocker spaniel shits more boxing knowledge than you gained in your entire life. Either that ****'s that smart our you are that dumb.
i dont like kp at all but props to him if he takes this fight. I wish other fighters would follow his example with high risk/high reward fights
You got it wrong but the way you post it of Martinez will leave a ring on a stretcher was really stupid. <<<Next time if you want to make a predictions on any Pavlik fights in the future, don't go way overboard like you did the last time ok?
