Top Rank's Bob Arum and his Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya took a couple of shots at each other tonight, and Arum even brought up a possible return to the ring for De La Hoya in the middle of all the sniping.

"Look I don't want to take a shot at Oscar but he spends more time Tweeting than promoting. ... I would rather make a fight between Chavez and De La Hoya (than Chavez vs Canelo Alvarez). That would be a huge fight given that Oscar beat Chavez Sr twice when he was towards the end of his career. Now it is kind of reversed and I think Chavez Jr. would be very interested in fighting Oscar."

oscar is too chubby now and maybe 6 months away from a good fighting shape. i don't even know if he can still fight after all the cocaine and alcohol that he put in his system.

I'd like to see it :)

I'm sure the casual fight fans would, too.

Regardless of how much of a farce it is, it would be sell very well.

Oscar is too out of "boxing shape" to make a comeback. This is Bob trying to cash out on Chavez Jr now SMH. And you guys think Pac boss is a good guy lol

like the 2nd poster said, we don't know how de la hoya's system is after being an alcoholic, although their are some fighters who used cocaine and still competed at a high level in the past.

De La Hoya was weight drained vs Pacquiao, he would probably give a better showing at 160.

I would laugh my ass off if Oscar came back and whooped Chavez haha

Prime for Prime Oscar takes it but with his time out of the ring and the coke addiction im going to say the younger Chavez takes it

If Oscar says yes then its on, Chavez would love to beat on the guy who beat his dad twice

    Interesting??

But @ this point I'd prefer not to watch De La Hoya further damage his rep.
(Then again this would make a truck load & satisfy some people over the Chavez Sr. beatings)

Chavez Jr makes easy work of stopping Oscar at this point.

**** Arum! He is always trying to get his way. He wants De La Hoya vs Chavez Jr. because he problaby thinks ODLH just doesn't have it in him anymore plus a win on Chavez side will bring his stock way up. He will rather milk Chavez jr more than actually put him against a legit MW contender other than Zbik.

I would like for it to happen.

Chavez Jr would win by TKO and it would prove my point that jr. is better than Snr.

I would love to see Oscar make one more successful fight happen, but it's 2011 for fuk sakes. He peaked in 98-2000. And it's not as if he's been a good boy and stayed near a gym. If he wanted it bad enough and devoted an entire year to getting back in shape then he could make it interesting but it could be ugly too.
