Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez -- natural future opponents and major stars in Mexico -- both won fights this month on highly rated HBO shows.
There is talk, especially in Mexico, about an eventual match between the two, though it is viewed as unlikely for the time being because each can make big money against a slew of other opponents while their rivalry brews and they become more known in the United States.
But Top Rank's Bob Arum, Chavez's promoter, insisted he would make the fight right now if Golden Boy was interested in a co-promotion.

"We'd scrap any plans for Chavez to fight Canelo immediately," Arum told ESPN.com. "(Trainer) Freddie (Roach) wants that fight, the kid wants that fight, we're ready. We just need a willingness on Canelo's part to do it. We're ready to do that fight. But I don't think they want the fight."

Not happening he is already trying to plant the seed that GBP won't co-promote the fight, even if he has no intentions on making the fight happen, so the public believes him when they start to question why the fight didn't take place.

    Translation -

We are not willing to take that fight, but will make it look like they are not willing.

Too many years of bad blood to be solved by a simple apology, even if they truly are getting along that doesn't mean we will still get the big fights, promoters are in the business of making the most money off their fighters fights.

Why eat a small piece off of one plate, when you can put a fight together with 2 fighters under your umbrella, and eat substaainly off of 2 plates, just business, it's dog eat dog and cut throat, you think Arum or De La Hoya give a **** about fans.............

I think they'll make it. Too much money on the table to risk on Martinez and Matirosyn.

I thought Chavez wants 158 and Canelo wants 154.. Chavez was 170 in his last fight, he can't make 154

Chavez rehydrtaed 20 pounds because he is a ****ing BUM that doesn't train well he needs someone to push him harder.... Since he was always spoon fed I bet he does what he wants when he wants... and all those training videos were BS (Maybe that's all the training he did lol)

Canelo Trainer agreed to 158 and even 160 because they are confident they would take out JR.

    DLH said 154..
    Arum Said 158.
